  1. Joker wasn’t making the killing a class issue. It was the media in the film that made it one. The Joker himself made it clear he wasn’t making a political statement. Changing the perpetrators to being stock brokers wasn’t political either but needed to connect the event to a subplot inspired by Taxi Driver involving a mayoral election which in both films was pretty apolitical as the policies wasn’t what drove Travis to attempt to assassinate the mayoral candidate nor is it the reason Joker hates Thomas Wayne. The inspiration of the incident is clearly seen in the media circus around the event in the film. Taking a random incident and making it political
