  4. I think my personal favorite bad studio notes come from Gremlins and Back to The Future. The former had the studio wanting to cut scenes with the titular monsters which caused Spielberg to suggest they cut all of them and name the movie people. Back to the Future infamously had one executive suggest they name the movie Spaceman from Pluto playing on the plot point of Marty getting mistaken for an alien by people in 1955. Spielberg responded as if it was a joke because that is what it was.
