Re Dom’s description of Russian Armies: I was unaware that the combat units of numbered Russian combined-arms Armies (eg, 20th Guards Combined Arms Army) were regularly part of corps organizations between them and their Army headquarters. Since early in WWII, Russian Armies have directly commanded a considerably smaller number of divisions or brigades than their western counterparts without intervening corps headquarters. Russian corps do exist, but tend to be separate organizations within military districts not subordinate to Armies, and although they may be attached to Armies like any other formation, I’m not sure this has taken place with any frequency.

@gracesprocket7340 This reinforces the point I was making; someone touted as an expert commentator on the military affairs of the war is unaware of the general organization of the forces of one side.

The tradition in the US with respect to disinformation is for the government to protect it like all other speech, leaving its disproof to responses from government organs and the media. More briefly put, lying in the public forum is legal and protected.

@brittadueandersen2519 Its constantly in the US news, if only in the form of the increasing resistance to the next few hundred million dollars of aid, and the associated Congressional wrangling.
