Application of the logic razor would suggest that Russian air losses are related to their increased use. SAM traps are a constant effort; the returns scale with enemy air activity. There is a cost in SAM launchers or radars as well, this is much less visible and more difficult to analyze.

Tactical use has always been part of their doctrine. That leads to a degree of desensitization, which shouldn’t be discounted.

Countering the surface fleet has successfully limited or ended Russian amphibious options. The Russians still have submarines, to which the Ukrainians have no counter. Of course, their use would be escalatory.

@marisabenson1222 get a sonar, MAD, and ASW weapon on a drone and get back to me. In other countries, that’s called a corvette or an ASW helicopter, depending on whether it’s surface or aerial.
