The eight brigade equivalents Ukraine sent to the north have been wrecked counterattacking the Russians around Vovchansk, and their redeployment there has left the eastern part of Ukraine open to an increased tempo of Russian advance. Some areas in the east seem to be transitioning from positional fighting to meeting engagements, which will be very bad for Ukraine. Lanchester’s Laws appear to be beginning to bite hard on the Ukrainians, as Russia continues to successfully reconstitute units and continue their offensive.
