Wish I could say I was shocked but this is what misinformation gets us. Every single person who has aided in spreading this misinformation should feel responsible for this.

@Tawana_X did you watch the first 10 mins of the video where she was calm, cool and respectful to dehart? She asked him between 38 and 45 times to get out of the vehicle. How is that not keeping things calm? Her partner knew he had been refusing to get out and how long she had been on the call. He showed up and was forceful to let dehart know he's getting out now. The only person at fault is dehart.
38
@Tawana_X yeah, real tense situation.. she talked to his mamaw and allowed him to call his wife, mamaw and whoever else. She asked him over 40 times to exit the vehicle. She already had probable cause to get him out for dui sobriety tests because of his driving. Complying and arguing against his gun charges in court would've saved everyone's life, but y'all ain't ready for that conversation.
35
@Tawana_X and who is this "y'all" you're talking about? We expect you all to comply while we just live life and get away with everything. Are you for real? No, we think everyone should comply. You don't fight your case on the side of the road. If the police are wrong, you hire a lawyer and sue the freaking city!
25
@lastdance2099 don't you love how they can't answer how it was "unlawful" or what laws or rights were broken? No, they'd rather call you names or call you "indoctrinated" instead of articulating their point. That's when you know they don't have anything to back up their opinion.
20
I'll wait to hear all the evidence they have against her but the way she's standing in court, her demeanor, i don't know, just seems like she doesn't care. I hope that's not the case. Makes me wonder what kind of person she is to be with a man like dehart and not only have her children around him but have a baby with him.
15
@Tawana_X good lord. Your ignorance gets worse every comment I see from you. You need to rewatch the video again and maybe with captions this time. Dehart is the only one saying anything about killing him. The only time the cop spoke to him was to tell him they were taking him to blount county and that he had a week to turn his self in. Later he said the cuffs will be adjusted when they switch. That's all the cop said to him. At least us "yt people" can hear and read.
13
@andrehicks-yl5le watch the video of the stop. I watched her testify and that's not what she said either.
12
@adelmomontero3554 was him opening up his car door to shoot the deputy who was already dying on the ground a part of the "self-defense? "
11
@Tawana_X It does matter what she did, and her partner knew what she had done and that he was refusing to get out. Let's go with your line of thinking for a second. So deputy McCowan shows up on scene and politely talks to dehart. What is dehart going to tell him that will make the situation different? He can argue all he wants....he wants a drug dog on scene, but they've already told him they don't have a dog to bring, and they don't have to bring one either. Which is true. McCowan would have still told dehart to get out and that he lawfully had to get out. Do you think McCowan asking nicely would've changed things? How? Because Eggert asked nicely around 40 times. At what point do they force someone out? After 100 times of asking? After 3 hours of begging? Police are trained in deescalation but also are trained to be forceful and take control of a situation that isn't moving forward because dehart is stalling and rattling on. He stalled because if he got out and complied, they would've found the gun he shouldn't have because he is a felon.
10
@dailyshenanigans4883 they've released multiple body cam and car cam footages from the day of his arrest. None of it is edited to not show some big beating he got. The mark on his face is from him being put on the ground at the transfer. It's a scuff mark from his cheek being against the pavement. Some beating.
10
What part of her story didn't match the video? It was spot on.
10
Why is it ridiculous? It's not home owners insurance. It's disaster relief funds. The money is usually to help with temporary lodging assistance and they can help with home repairs or replacement but for fiscal year 2024 the maximum amount you'll receive is $42k. Again, fema is not home owners insurance. Getting any help from fema is good.
8
Because he wasn't beat. That's why.
7
Well, Dolly is a class act. I expect no less from her.
7
@hawaiibound. You do realize when they found his abandoned car there wasn't any guns in it either but we sure do know there was some since he used one to kill the officer, so you're whole theory that because the weed wasn't in there means it wasn't in there the whole time. You really think he would leave guns and drugs in the car? And honestly it's a moot point anyways cause she had probable cause to sobriety test him for dui anyways.
7
Well i guess this puts all those facebook and youtube posts and arguments to rest about how he didn't have that scuff mark under his eye when he was being arrested. Edited to add: he said they knocked his glasses off and he couldn't see. That scuff mark is exactly where glasses would sit.
6
And yet if you watch until the end you can see clearly from the dash cam that no one is beating on him. Forming a wall protects them while they're preoccupied with the suspect, since they are on the side of the road. We could hear him whining in the car too, does that mean he was getting beat then too? Dehart knows how to play up the "poor black man getting beat by the police" cries.
6
@AspireGMD and your comment is why black Americans will continue to cry victim of police stops and fail to take any responsibility for why they were stopped or why the stop went that way. I will always demand accountability for cops who violate our rights and break laws. After watching all the videos available on this stop, I don't see what they need to be accountable for. Dehart created the problem from the beginning by riding in the wrong lane multiple times. Then failing to get out after being asked over 40 times. If you look at his record the you know when he has stuff on him that he shouldn't have, he will refuse to get out. Ask Pigeon Forge police about his armed standoff after a stop there. He had drugs on him then.
6
@dailyshenanigans4883 yes, the tiny scuff mark from the pavement when his face was against it during the transfer. He also screamed and whined while in the back seat. Guess they were beating on him then too. You really think they were beating him on the side of the road or at the arrest with people videoing?
5
@eventev3700 these people fail to understand that.
5
Did you miss the part where they said this was just the start and that more money would come as the project gets started?
4
@lpe655 i live no where near water but I'm in a flood plain. I had to purchase flood insurance when we bought this house 2.5 years ago. We pay $600 a year for flood insurance. That's at least half of what my home owners insurance is. So, flood insurance isn't outrageous.
4
Why does who care? The law makers? Because modifying your bumpers does away with safety. If that truck rear ends me, they won't hit my bumper which is there to absorb the impact and not my body. I was rear-ended by someone with a lowered front end and they went under my bumper. Twenty four years later I'm still dealing with back issues because of it. Had he hit my bumper I probably wouldn't have even been hurt.
4
Where did the beat him up at?
4
@OhGawdHesGotAGun I believe they counted 37 to 45 times he was asked to get out of the vehicle
4
Might want to study up on Tennessee's laws because you're not correct
4
@FiFo911 Sure, it's legal to do that but apparently that's not what this person did. Plenty of witnesses and statements to sheriff to charge him
4
Jesus, they've released tons of footage and y'all are still not happy with it. They've even released jail footage which is never done. Good lord
4
Traffic was blocked. Nobody was in danger.
3
@hawaiibound. What rights were violated since you know your rights and the law so well. And where does all the torturing take place? I've watched every video. Can you point it out?
3
@jesmichel you guys sure have a weird definition of being tortured. I guess his cuffs being too tight was torturing him as well, right? A one time 5 second tase tortured him? Come on. And yet, during said torture, he was able to grab his gun and shoot the cops. She didn't even need the weed to get him out since she had probable cause for a dui stop. I love how you gloss right over him being a felon with a gun or the fact that he has a record of police standoffs with guns involved. The fact that you think she wasn't patient with him says everything about you.
3
@kevinkev9996 what law did they break here?
3
@LaTonyaAnderson-c2c and that guy clearly lied and hasn't come back to answer anyone's questions after the video was released. Dehart wasn't even in there long enough to get beat on for 30 mins straight in the holding cell next to the guy.
3
No, not yet but they immediately had to blame someone so the government is it and it's because they "control the weather" and wanted to create this disaster so that rich companies could get the mining rights in some of the areas affected. 😂
3
@CBo-li3rg and it explains how it was edited. To show you the different camera angles at the same time. The only audio omitted was identifying info when she ran his license. Surely, if you watch the video, you can tell nothing is edited to change the narrative.
3
@grindnshineproductions I'm from the area too. They didn't set him up. Good lord. Y'all will find every reason to support this man that is now going to face the death penalty when all he had to do was go to court and fight the gun charge.
3
Which cop actually shot him? The female cop? Or did both shoot him?
3
@hawaiibound. lol, but not old enough to respond to me and then someone else two minutes later, right? I get it. You have no coherent argument.
3
No one escorted anyone in. There's videos of officers leading some of the protesters around later after they've all broke in. Those officers testified they were trying to lead them away from areas that had people hiding and trying to diffuse the situation by remaining calm and letting them get a few looks around and leading them to the exit.
3
@laurenloggins826 I wonder how she got messed up with him then? Hope he wasn't abusing her too, given his past charges. I can see how he could manipulate someone after listening to his phone calls while being pulled over.
3
@TrustKnowWun so what part of this story isn't to be believed?
3
@hawaiibound. She had probable cause to get him out of the vehicle based on his swerving. She had a dui stop right there. And you really think torture is the right word? It was 5 seconds of the taser. Some of which he could still grab his gun and fire it. Do you understand what torture means?
3
@JoeBlow-Knoxbaddrivers the news clip covers both stories, and this person acts like in either story that they had a right to harass fema workers cause they're just "criticizing the government" while legally carrying. And I said, of course you can criticize the government while legally carrying, but that person in the second story was arrested, so he obviously did something besides just "criticize them."
3
Same as becoming a soldier but you all don't complain about that
3
Wait.. we let them hurt us because we're scared? Aren't y'all the ones who claim you don't comply because "you were scared"? It's literally the number one excuse that comes out of a black person's mouth after being put in handcuffs and asked why they didn't pull over or why they didn't comply. If I was so scared of the police like y'all say you are then I sure as hell wouldn't do what y'all do. I would comply and fight my charges in court. The system isn't set up to fight charges on the side of the road anyways. And what exactly did the cops do to him?
3
@jamesclay9769 how were there not two? The comment said he killed a man and attempted to kill another. Which would be the deputy he injured. Therefore two people
3
@Graahk-r8u no one's saying he shouldn't have a bond, we're just wondering why it is so high.
3
Seems like you're confused on the difference between temporary workers and probationary workers. Probationary workers have only been with the company for a short amount of time. It depends on the company how long they deem someone a probationary employee. These people are full-time hired employees and therefore aren't temporary workers.
3
It's from the security cameras in the jail. They don't record audio.
