@andrehicks-yl5le watch the video of the stop. I watched her testify and that's not what she said either.

Well i guess this puts all those facebook and youtube posts and arguments to rest about how he didn't have that scuff mark under his eye when he was being arrested. Edited to add: he said they knocked his glasses off and he couldn't see. That scuff mark is exactly where glasses would sit.

Where did the beat him up at?

@OhGawdHesGotAGun I believe they counted 37 to 45 times he was asked to get out of the vehicle

@kevinkev9996 what law did they break here?

Wait.. we let them hurt us because we're scared? Aren't y'all the ones who claim you don't comply because "you were scared"? It's literally the number one excuse that comes out of a black person's mouth after being put in handcuffs and asked why they didn't pull over or why they didn't comply. If I was so scared of the police like y'all say you are then I sure as hell wouldn't do what y'all do. I would comply and fight my charges in court. The system isn't set up to fight charges on the side of the road anyways. And what exactly did the cops do to him?

It's from the security cameras in the jail. They don't record audio.

@bobogun13 complying changes things, doesn't it? Do you know how many videos are out there where suspects have done some of the most heinous crimes and are black and while waiting and being questioned are offered food, drinks and sometimes even cigarettes/ vapes? But you guys don't mention them. It's always "but dylan got burger King." You fail to read why and how cooperative he was. Or read about all the others who have been given food while being questioned by investigators. Given the way dehart acted, he'd be lucky to be offered water.

@Sdd867 the body cam footage of the stop was already released. Once he's inside the jail there's no need to have the body cam on. The whole building is monitored by cameras. They will record certain things if they need to but usually the security cameras are enough.

@Sdd867 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

They meant at the time of his arrest the body cams hadn't been released yet.

@GlendaCurtis-jv1qe you are not correct. They didn't violate his rights. They do not have to bring a dog and he never asked for the supervisor. That man thought he knew his rights but didn't. My brother in law is a deputy sheriff and we have talked about this case. Not only that, you can look up the laws that state they didn't violate his rights. Your brother may have been lucky to be pulled over when they had a dog available to bring to the scene and maybe the officer decided to handle it differently because he knew a dog was available or that the supervisor was requested. But, she had probable cause to pull dehart over that night. He was riding in the other lane. She had probable cause to pull him out just based on that and ask him to submit to a field sobriety test. She had probable cause to search once she smelt weed. By law, in Tennessee, that gives an officer a right to search your car. If you refuse, you can be arrested. Again, they don't have to provide a dog. The officer smelling weed is enough probable cause. Just like people think they have to provide a female officer on scene to do any search of a female. That's false. A male officer can do a pat down for safety. But it's not going to be the same as the search a man gets. A woman will be more throughly searched at the jail.

It's almost like complying gets a different reaction. Amazing, isn't it?

Where in this video are they "beating him the whole time?" Heck, just name one?

Are you serious? It was a big deal here in Blount County too. The difference between those two was that they took Officer Moats' killer into custody that same day. There wasn't body cam footage back then, and they didn't have to hunt for the killer for 5 days. Do you think the cops really care what color someone is when it comes to someone killing one of their own? The amount of transparency by the sheriff to release all the footage he has is a good thing. Officer Moats was Maryville police, so the sheriff isn't responsible for that department. Also, Moats' situation didn't become a big race issue with people saying the deputies beat the killer either.

And let's be real, he's not even blank himself. He's mixed.
