@Tawana_X did you watch the first 10 mins of the video where she was calm, cool and respectful to dehart? She asked him between 38 and 45 times to get out of the vehicle. How is that not keeping things calm? Her partner knew he had been refusing to get out and how long she had been on the call. He showed up and was forceful to let dehart know he's getting out now. The only person at fault is dehart.

@Tawana_X yeah, real tense situation.. she talked to his mamaw and allowed him to call his wife, mamaw and whoever else. She asked him over 40 times to exit the vehicle. She already had probable cause to get him out for dui sobriety tests because of his driving. Complying and arguing against his gun charges in court would've saved everyone's life, but y'all ain't ready for that conversation.

You don't fight your case on the side of the road. If the police are wrong, you hire a lawyer and sue the freaking city!

@lastdance2099 don't you love how they can't answer how it was "unlawful" or what laws or rights were broken? No, they'd rather call you names or call you "indoctrinated" instead of articulating their point. That's when you know they don't have anything to back up their opinion.

@Tawana_X good lord. Your ignorance gets worse every comment I see from you. You need to rewatch the video again and maybe with captions this time. Dehart is the only one saying anything about killing him. The only time the cop spoke to him was to tell him they were taking him to blount county and that he had a week to turn his self in. Later he said the cuffs will be adjusted when they switch. That's all the cop said to him. At least us "yt people" can hear and read.

@Tawana_X It does matter what she did, and her partner knew what she had done and that he was refusing to get out. Let's go with your line of thinking for a second. So deputy McCowan shows up on scene and politely talks to dehart. What is dehart going to tell him that will make the situation different? He can argue all he wants....he wants a drug dog on scene, but they've already told him they don't have a dog to bring, and they don't have to bring one either. Which is true. McCowan would have still told dehart to get out and that he lawfully had to get out. Do you think McCowan asking nicely would've changed things? How? Because Eggert asked nicely around 40 times. At what point do they force someone out? After 100 times of asking? After 3 hours of begging? Police are trained in deescalation but also are trained to be forceful and take control of a situation that isn't moving forward because dehart is stalling and rattling on. He stalled because if he got out and complied, they would've found the gun he shouldn't have because he is a felon.

@dailyshenanigans4883 they've released multiple body cam and car cam footages from the day of his arrest. None of it is edited to not show some big beating he got. The mark on his face is from him being put on the ground at the transfer. It's a scuff mark from his cheek being against the pavement. Some beating.

You do realize when they found his abandoned car there wasn't any guns in it either but we sure do know there was some since he used one to kill the officer, so you're whole theory that because the weed wasn't in there means it wasn't in there the whole time. You really think he would leave guns and drugs in the car? And honestly it's a moot point anyways cause she had probable cause to sobriety test him for dui anyways.

And yet if you watch until the end you can see clearly from the dash cam that no one is beating on him. Forming a wall protects them while they're preoccupied with the suspect, since they are on the side of the road. We could hear him whining in the car too, does that mean he was getting beat then too? Dehart knows how to play up the "poor black man getting beat by the police" cries.

@AspireGMD and your comment is why black Americans will continue to cry victim of police stops and fail to take any responsibility for why they were stopped or why the stop went that way. I will always demand accountability for cops who violate our rights and break laws. After watching all the videos available on this stop, I don't see what they need to be accountable for. Dehart created the problem from the beginning by riding in the wrong lane multiple times. Then failing to get out after being asked over 40 times. If you look at his record the you know when he has stuff on him that he shouldn't have, he will refuse to get out. Ask Pigeon Forge police about his armed standoff after a stop there. He had drugs on him then.

@jesmichel you guys sure have a weird definition of being tortured. I guess his cuffs being too tight was torturing him as well, right? A one time 5 second tase tortured him? Come on. And yet, during said torture, he was able to grab his gun and shoot the cops. She didn't even need the weed to get him out since she had probable cause for a dui stop. I love how you gloss right over him being a felon with a gun or the fact that he has a record of police standoffs with guns involved. The fact that you think she wasn't patient with him says everything about you.

@LaTonyaAnderson-c2c and that guy clearly lied and hasn't come back to answer anyone's questions after the video was released. Dehart wasn't even in there long enough to get beat on for 30 mins straight in the holding cell next to the guy.

@itsmeahschannel5629 they've shown more body cams than any other case they've had, and people like you are still not happy. If you watched the whole video, at the end, they showed the dash cam from a vehicle pointing in the direction they had him on the ground. You can see 2 officers bent down on the ground with him. They were rechecking him. If they were beating him, you'd be able to see movement by these officers. If cops wanted to beat this guy, they would do it somewhere where there wasn't a ton of people watching from the road. They go somewhere where there are no people or cameras. If he ever got beat, his lawyer would be able to argue police brutality. And you will see that won't happen when his trial happens.

This isn't "heavily edited" you just can't figure out the time stamps and which order they're in then that's on you. He got the tiny scuff mark on his eye during the transfer from knox Co. Deputies to blount county. They scuffed his face as he was put to the ground. This man wasn't beat at all. That "full version" you're referring to is from prior released footage. This is from the same day just from knox county deputies body cam and dash cams. It's additional footage from that day. The pervious one starts with him getting into the cop car at the exchange from this video. All this is, is additional footage of that day.

They showed us multiple times from multiple cameras. Do you want him slowly escorted out the car? The guy got pulled out by his handcuffs. The way he was sitting he was coming out feet first or hands behind his back first.

They've literally showed you ever camera footage they have. Body cam, dash cam, security cam from jail. What more do you want? I've never seen jail footage from an arrest before released but they do this time for transparency and you still are mad? In case you didn't know, the jail footage is from the security cameras and those don't have sound. They don't record sound in buildings like that for privacy.

Sure, there are some cases that should've resulted in charges but that's the way it is in every aspect of life. But not every black man killed by white cops is an automatic situation where the cop should've went to jail. But that's something you all will never agree with. Just like the people here saying dehart was just applying self defense after getting tortured. Of course that's not at all what happened but the need to be a victim is so strong that's all they'll ever see. You know what I saw when the white guy shot the other white maryville cop in 2016? I saw a murder and there's no way I'm defending that man killing a cop just because I don't like everything cops do or just defending the murderer cause he's white.

And yet you think that scrap mark is the proof they have edited all the videos to not show this huge beating he got. He also said while getting put in the first police car to the people filming that they were beating him up. But that black woman released her footage on Facebook, and guess what? He's not beat at all. Guess that black woman who put it out to support him must've edited out the beating, too.

@faith9135 no, you just probably didn't pay attention to it since it didn't fit your victimhood. Plus, the "white guy" didn't go on a week long chase either. He was caught at the scene of the shooting. And you didn't have white people on social media defending him just cause they hate cops or want to defend the man cause he's white too. No, we don't defend criminals. Sorry you missed all the news about it though.

I'm sure you could ask for the footage per records request if you need to see that footage. I personally have seen more body cam, dash cam, back seat cam, security cam and any other cam than i ever have on any other arrest. I can see him on the ground each time and i can't see anything happening to him. I don't see a bunch of them dog piling him or kneeling on his neck. I don't see them beating him or torturing him. So, no i don't need to see footage that will show me what i can already deduce from other footage and context clues. There's plenty of police departments that have and will cover things up but I'm satisfied with this one because i believe they've been transparent and the people who say they haven't do not give even remotely good answers. They showed the jail footage because of how much the public freaked out about him having a scuff mark on his eye and supposedly redness around his neck. The redness is in all his facebook pics. Plus, that man that came out and said he was at the jail at the same time and he had to listen to them torture and beat dehart for 30mins in a holding cell right beside him. That man never thought the sheriff would release the video and prove him a liar and he won't answer anyone's questions now that it's come out. Nothing about that jail footage was suspect. What was there 25 people total and probably a good 15 work in the jail and are meant to be there. The rest came in with dehart.

@Stargazer69 I don't plan to, but you can need a jury for more than just criminal proceedings. I had one when I was 16 from an uninsured driver hitting me, and we had to go to court for medical bills. I had a jury then, too. But reading these comments, I don't know if I'd trust these people to hear the case correctly.

@Stargazer69 I would agree, but sadly, too many people think they know what those rights are and the laws in their states, but just reading these comments prove otherwise. Just like people claiming they had no right to pull him over or that dehart knew his rights, but yet he didn't. He wasn't correct on his rights or the laws for the stop and what they could and couldn't do. Just like people who claim we have freedom of speech but can't understand that it doesn't mean freedom from the consequences of that speech.
