  2. I'm sorry but please remember that China agreed to honor the deal it made with Great Britain when that nation withdrew from Hong Kong. That China would honor the sovereignty of Hong Kong and it's rule of democracy for 50 years. Instead Hong Kong has nothing but broken promises and it's citizens being persecuted,hunted as criminals and incarcerated for their democratic beliefs. Taiwan is another democratic nation and a thorn in the ideological side of the CCP. China, as a nation, has given the world no reason to believe that if allowed to gain control of Taiwan, they would not pursue the the same type of persecution and oppression as that practiced upon the natives of Hong Kong? Simply because Xi Jumping has not explicitly stated that China will invade Taiwan, he has been continuously ramping up the rehtoric about the necessity of preparing for War as if "he" believes it is quickly approaching. The economic health of China is deteriorating rapidly. It is the policy of totalitarian governments to go to War to distract their populace from the troubles within the nation. Instead of blaming the government, it's much easier to blame the enemy for the privations the people are suffering. Lastly, the Chinese military has been training for years to invade Taiwan. They have gamed all the outcomes and have come to the conclusion that without the involvement of the US and it's Pacific Allies, China could definitely take Taiwan.
