@coreanismo I know a lot more history that you do - what you think is history is just vicious anti-Western propaganda. Your remark about 'coloniser-appropriation' is incoherent babble pretending to wisdom. Anglo-Saxon culture enriched others and also adopted elements of them. Not 'appropriation' cross fertilisation.
Anglo-Saxon culture was adopted peaceably by most nations, whether within the Anglo-sphere or not. Britain had tiny numbers of administrators in its imperial possessions, most notably the Indian Raj, which transmitted this to societies that had no culture beyond traditional forms. NONE of those it has had contact with have abrogated or dismissed it since then. Those nations have been independent in some cases for over over 200 years ie the USA and the others for at least a century and a half, the most recent gained independence some 65 years ago. The Rule of Law, the Westminster representative form of democracy are regarded as ideal forms. The English language and its products affect all Social Theories, Philosophies, Economics, Business and Commercial practices and procedures as well as the very form of the Novel, the Theatre and Fictional Literature.
There was colonisation by all peoples across all continents for all human history, why single out the greater success of the Anglo-Saxons.
Stop babbling and screaming against Anglo-Saxon historical success and get a life.

Just when was it that NATO 'advanced' to Russian borders? Name the years and name the states. The tell me what diplomatic objections were made by Russia when this happened.
Putin claimed two things when he attacked in 2022, that Ukraine had no historic right to exist and was part of Greater Russia so that he would take it over within weeks.
Secondly he said he wanted to reduce the 'encroachment of NATO borders'.
Firstly, Ukraine was not conquered, but if it was then secondly Putin would have created a larger border with NATO by doing so. Look at a map ,the actual border between Russia and NATO was tiny, the three Baltics plus a little with Poland. Takeover Ukraine and one includes Romania, Hungary, more Poland and Slovakia.
So Putin has already lost in his two key objectives, he did not over run Ukraine but his adventure caused long time neutrals, Sweden and Finland to join NATO excluding Russia from the Baltic and massively increasing the border in Karelia, endangering the Murmansk and Archangel bases.

Let us just remind ourselves of the staggering victory the people of this country had over the ENTIRE Establishment - every one of them from the vast majority of Political Classes as the major parties and the smaller Nationalist wannabees, the career Civil Service, the Big Brother monopolistic CBI Businesses, the entire Groves of Academe and their associated Swamps of Education, the Quality Press, the Bigoted Broadcasting Corporation, along with its 'independent’ rivals and their special 'dependency class the Commentariat, also the alleged Comedians with their snarling prejudices, the Luvvies of the Glitterati and Culturatti and their associated hangers on of the 'Sports Personalities'. All of them, ALL, got the biggest Collective Kick in the Crotch and then up the Backside from the vast Majority of the Electorate who turned out in the largest proportion and numbers ever seen in our Country.
This was achieved not only against the EUroFantasists but also in no small part despite the unremitting propaganda which turned out to be so shallow that even Spending Twice as Much on the Remain side (that does not include the Government Leaflet neutrally explaining we Must Remain - for which Cameron should be Surcharged for £9m) as on Leave and We Still Won!
However, the Establishment is still trying to keep the UK closely aligned to the EU as an attempt to reintegrate us back into it, hence their devotion to the NIP, a device to keep the entire UK within EU arrangements and also the Treasury adherence to the Maastricht Treaty GDP-PSBR-Deficit rules even though Brown ruled out joining the EUro in 1997..

@alienthed.e.i.9165 Thank you for exposing your ignorance. But then you are a very confused and bigoted person.
1) I stated clearly that the Israeli settlers in Gaza BOUGHT the land from Gazans after 1973 Egypt-Israel Peace Agreement. The Israeli government as part of the Peace Process with the PA-PLO agreed to remove these by paying the settlers compensation and then giving the land to the PA. Bought legally from Gazans through UNRWA. .
Surely you can understand that simple transaction!
2) The 'lands' were NOT illegally occupied, except by statements made by ... the PA-PLO pushing wiht the Arab League pious resolutions in the UN. This has no legal status.
3) There is in fact no real Palestinian Authority because it is split between various warring factions, Fatah, Hezbollah, PIJ, Hamas..
4) The reason Israel is larger than was mandated is because in 1947 the Arab League would not allow ANY part of the Mandate to be given to Juvvs and the Arabs were in fact Egyptian or Jordanee nationals. The seven national Arab League armies ordered the Arabs there to leave - 150,000 did so and 125,000 did not, in order to attack the new Israeli state which was confined to the mandated territory.
5) The Arab League LOST and Israel acquired the other parts but not WB and Gaza. This was where the AL ordered the Arabs to live as 'refugees' although they were invited back by the Israeli government but the League would not allow them to go back. In fact these Arabs that were land owners sold their property through UNRWA to either Israeli individuals or to the Israeli government.
6) The Israeli government conquered Gaza, WB , Golan and Sinai in 1967 when the Arab League under Nasser attacked it again. Israel signed a Peace Treaty with Egypt in 1973 and gave back Sinai but Egypt did not want the Gazans. Already in 1971 the PLO attempted to overthrow King Hessein who expelled them.
7) In 1988 Jordan gave the WB to the PLO and effectively declared itself neutral to Israel.
8) Israel has attempted to give Peace for Land with the PA but the PA do not want Peace. The mineral resources if exploited by Israel will be spent on the Gazans and WB but you of course are wholly unaware that the main non-Arab income to the PA is in fact PA domiciled Arabs income tax paid for working in Israel given to it.
9) Israel supplies power and water to Gaza for free but Hamas do not care if it is cut off because of their terrorism as this will reinforce their victimhood narrative. When Anwar the Hamas leader was asked about the effects on civilians he responded that this was a matter for UNWRA not him.
NOW GO AND EDUCATE YOURSELF WITH THE FACTS!

The AfD is the ONLY Opposition party in Germany, all the rest, CDU, CSU, FPD, SDP, Greens, Linke-left ALL agree on the same Globalist policies, pro-EU, pro-WHO, pro-UN, pro-Lockdowns, pro-War, pro-Net Zero, pro-Mass Immigration. So it is now the largest SINGLE party in the Polls and therefore it has to be banned!

@andyc7917 More economic ignorance and drivel from you! Scotland does not have its own currency and if it did it would be worthless as the Scottish economy is a basket case.
Scotland’s deficit between money spent and income raised has more than doubled in 2020/21 to £36.3 billion. Almost as much as the entire Holyrood budget. This represents a deficit of 22.4% of GDP for the year – up from 8.8% in 2019/20. By comparison, the UK’s national figure hit 14.5%,, however the UK Treasury manages that by its ability to issue low -interest bonds 10 years at 0.26%. That is the UK Treasury covers that of the Scots in its own management operation through LIBs . Scotland would not even be able to issues bonds at Italian rates 17% at 10 years and the Italians cannot find buyers for them.
The Pound's value on the ForEx is not in any way reliant on the Scottish economy which is a fraction of the UK's. Even the SNP admit they would have to use the Bank of England Note Issue (either until it qualified to join the EUro, it can't or find an alternative, it can't) which by the way is to completely replace the Scots Notes of RBS-BoS later this year. So no independent currency, so no control of interest rates, or ForEx, or ability to borrow at a discount or in fact any independent Fiscal Policy!
Perhaps you can go and look at the experience of the 26 Counties Failed Sate from Day One of Independence when it was forgiven its UK portion of the UK National Debt and could still not cover its own budget, nor borrow because it had failed in its previous debt obligations. It used the Pound-Punt which had the same status as the Scots Notes ie BoE backed.
The pathological lies are not just the public ones from the SNP which tells whoppers off the record to its supporters, like you. - such as "Scotland gives more in tax than it receives" and "We can have a Scots Currency equal to the Pound" or "We can afford our Deficits and finance our Debt at current taxation levels", or "When we rejoin EU we will have a huge export market". All lies based on the Unicorns and Rainbows of non-existent economic and trading viability.
I wonder if you are related to Koko The Kilted Klown who spouts ';hilarity' at psychotic levels in this forum..

There are 1.2 Billion Muslims in the World living in millions of square miles of Africa and Asia. There are 15 million J6vvs of which 8 million live in Israel, which is the size of Wales or New Hampshire. Yet somehow Israel is the problem.
In 1948 there were 120,000 Arabs in the Israeli state and today 2 million, 20% of the population with the highest standard of living in the region as Israeli citizens. Netanyahu was imprisoned by an Arab Israeli judge.
No land was 'stolen' by Israel, it was purchased from Arabs who were told by the Arab nations not to return after 1948. The buildings in Jerusalem from which Arabs were evicted as squatters recently were also purchased by Israelis from the Arab owners.
Israelis settled in Gaza, having bought it from Arabs, were forcibly removed by the Israeli authorities in 2006 and compensation paid to them, the settlements were then given to the PA.
So land legally bought in Gaza was given back.
In 1948 there were 240,000 Arabs living in the West Bank and Gaza. Today there are 4 million with the same third world standards as in the neighbouring Arab nations. .
So this is 'genocide'?
There are Arabs, Muslims, Druze and Chrstians in Israel. There are none of these minorities in Gaza and West Bank. So that is Apartheid. Indeed the Jewish populations of the Muslim nations is numbered in hundreds their having been persecuted by their governments.

@matthewcook9404 In 2014 Farage took UKIP to victory as the largest British party in the European Parliament, the first time a non-Westminster party had won a UK wide general election, this led to Cameron pledging the Tories to a EU Referendum. In 2015 Farage led UKIP to third largest party by popular vote in the UK General Election, larger numbers than Lib-Dems or SNP, this meant that Cameron had to fulfill his Referendum pledge. In 2016 Farage led the Leave Vote campaign to victory in the EUro Referendum which on analysis was won by a majority vote carried in 70% of UK constituencies. In 2019 Farage led the Brexit Party to victory, six weeks after it was founded, in the Euro Parliament election making it the single largest party in Brussels.
Farage is the UK's most successful politician of the 21st Century.
You were saying - ohh, by the way, you know nothing of UK Electoral history, of Farage or anything about the EU because you live within a prejudiced , bigoted bubble.

@stephenconway2468 Garbled nonsense. Ireland was NEVER 'united' except under the English and then British Crown. The UK attempted to give it 'Home Rule' and the fanatics would not accept that many of their compatriots did not want it. So fine then: Home Rule was granted in a way that could have led to later unity and the North remained and the South immediately began a civil war with each other over the very policy they claimed they had wanted. Nor was the arrangement offered any different from the other Anglo-phone members of the Empire which became independent - the Canadian confederation did not originally include Newfoundland, NZ was supposed to become a State of Australia, South Africa was a Union. After WW2 the Raj became three separate nations , the Cameroons merged as did the Somalias, but the two Rhodesias and Nyasaland went their own ways.
The UK took the RoI into the EEC-EU and paid its accession fees (before you go ballistic and blathering this is a matter of simple arithmetic of the then EEC budget). Dublin could have said it did not want to join - oddly the main argument in the Accession Vote was that 'the UK has joined'.
The DUP has accepted the GFA as it entrenches their authority and if the SF withdraws to collapse it then they have a more effective Union anyway. Again, O'Brien ended his public career as a member of the Unionist group that promoted total integration into the UK as like Wales and Scotland at that time. He should know, he was a TD , Government Minister and one time Dublin Ambassador to the UN.
ALL Irish Republicanism is fake, they either pretend to not being part of the UK or slavishly follow a European power - Rome, France, Germany all now merged as the Commission- to attempt to prove their non-existent independence.
Scottish Indy believers need to look at the history of the Failed State of the 26 Counties and be warned to be careful what they wish for.

Actually, you know nothing about these issues. You are a complete IGNORAMUS. There has been NO genocide of Palestinians, in fact there are ten times more of them now than in 1948. What did happen was that the Arab neighbour nations have exploited a grievance culture among this group for political purposes. However since the Sadat Peace Treaty and Camp David most of these have ceased to be belligerents. The Abraham Accords have deepened this status. Hamas is intentionally trying to stop the formal peace deals - the spark was that Saudi was to recognise Israel.
There has been no occupation for75 years. What you are referring to as 'Palestine' is Israel. You seem unaware that as part of the Oslo Accords Israel withdrew from Gaza and forcibly removed Israeli settlements there. This was a precursor to the general agreement in regard to the West Bank settlements.
The history is straightforward, 95% of the LoN Mandate territories became the Arab nations of Saudi, Iraq, Syria and Jordan with Lebanon. A sliver of this was given as Jewish settlements. The Arab nations attacked it and were defeated. These then ORDERED the Arabs to leave and refused to treat with ben Gurion to let them back. Israel and Israelis BOUGHT property off the Palestinians in the empty areas.
Nor is Israel an 'apartheid' regime because 20% of its citizens are Arabs and their parties sit in the Knesset and were part of the recent Bennett Coalition. You also seem unaware that the judge in the recent Natanyahu trial was an Arab.
In Gaza however, you cannot be a Christian, Druze, Shia never mind a Jew and that looks like apartheid in the extreme to me. Israel has been increasing the number of work visas to Gaza residents as an attempt at normalisation. Hamas do not like 'normal'. Indeed it murdered the Al Fatah PLO representatives in Gaza when it took over in 2008.
Nor is Gaza a 'cage/open prison'. It has been blockaded by EGYPT and Israel because of Hamas turning it into a terrorist training camp and base. what 'open prison' has massive armaments and fires rockets into the neighbouring state? If you go to Gaza it looks like any other ME City, shopping malls, fast food outlets and restaurants. Not a prison camp. Because of Hamas's activities they have turned what could have been a prosperous metropolis into a hell hole. Hamas have spent more on its rat holes underground than would be necessary to create a Metro System of benefit to its people.

There are 1.2 Billion M@zl1ms in the World living in millions of square miles of Africa and Asia. There are 15 million J6vvs of which 8 million live in Isr@el, which is the size of Wales or New Hampshire. Yet somehow Isr@el is the problem.
In 1948 there were 120,000 Arabs in the Isr@el1 state and today 2 million, 20% of the population with the highest standard of living in the region as Isr@el1 citizens. Netanyahu was imprisoned by an Arab Isr@el1 judge.
No land was 'stolen' by Isr@el, it was purchased from Arabs who were told by the Arab nations not to return after 1948. The buildings in Jerusalem from which Arabs were evicted as squatters recently were also purchased by Is@el1s from the Arab owners.
Is@el1s settled in Gaza, having bought it from Arabs, were forcibly removed by the Is@el1 authorities in 2006 and compensation paid to them, the settlements were then given to the PA.
So land legally bought in Gaza was given back for free to the PA., which destroyed the productive farms which had been left as 'symbols of occupation'.
In 1948 there were 240,000 Arabs living in the West Bank and Gaza. Today there are 4 million with the same third world standards as in the neighbouring Arab nations. .
So this is 'genocide'?
There are Arabs, M@zl1ms, Druze and Christians in Is@el. There are none of these minorities in Gaza and West Bank. So that is Apartheid. Indeed the Juvvish populations of the M@zl1m nations is numbered in just a few hundreds their having been persecuted by those governments and they left for elsewhere, mainly Isr@el. ..

@maartenaalsmeer What schadenfruede ? You claimed you 'moved on' - please spell out what it is you are joyous about? Whenever I come across an EU fanatic I am always amazed how ignorant they are about the EU. Barnier is not 'retired' from European politics and certainly not from promoting the EU agenda, it is a condition of his pension arrangements - these people, like Blair, Mandelson, Heseltine, are up to their necks in the same stew. Massive sums are spent by the EU either directly or through agencies in the UK (UK in a Stronger - European Reform etc) on 'promotion' and 'diplomacy' and 'information'. The EU even has an Embassy in London with a budget that the Irish republic could not afford. Go and look at the EU budgets for this activity. So it is not a ridiculous claim, it is a fact.
There is constant references to the UK leaving the EU in the EU media outlets, ALL negative to try and stop similar movements in the member states.
If the 'EU moved on' why is it constantly threatening sanctions against the UK over Northern Ireland ? They could just keep their nose out. In fact it is crucial to the EU that the T&CA-NIP is used as a ratchet to keep the UK aligned with it. Barnier, Macron, Blair etc cannot 'move on' at all.
Brexit is a EU domestic issue, it lost 205 of its GDP and its second largest European market, in fact the largest non-domestic market for EU nations by value is the UK. That is why the EU cannot move on.

Ahh 'the Scot 'Rifkind!
His endorsement of Biden is the kiss of death'!
TRUMP'S RECORD IN OFFICE:-
1: The Inspiring the Next Space Pioneers, Innovators, Researchers, and Explorers (INSPIRE) Act, signed into law by President Trump, focused on increasing the role of women in the STEM fields. The Act compels NASA actively to promote STEM subjects to women and girls and encourages women to pursue careers in aerospace. Currently, only one in four women who receive a STEM degree ends up working in a STEM field.
2: The Promoting Women in Entrepreneurship Act was signed by President Trump in 2017 and authorises the National Science Foundation to support entrepreneurial programmes aimed at women. The Act encourages women to extend their focus beyond the laboratory and into the commercial world.
3: The Administration helped launch the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative which is set to release more than $1billion for women entrepreneurs.
4: In February 2019, the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative was launched by the President. The initiative intends to reach 50million women in the developing world by 2025. The goal of the initiative is to provide ‘women with quality education, training, and support, so they can secure and thrive in well-paying jobs in their local economies’.
5: One of President Trump’s early executive orders dealt with the re-establishment of the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The President moved the initiative from the Department of Education to the Executive Office of the President and appropriated $360million to historically black institutions, a record amount.
6: The opioid crisis was declared a public health emergency in October 2017. The Trump administration has secured $6billion to fight opioid abuse; $2billion has been provided in grants to help States, territories, tribes, and local communities prevent and treat opioid abuse.
7: A year after declaring the public health emergency the President signed into law The SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act. The Act makes addiction treatment a priority, prevents overprescription and trains law enforcement officers to intercept shipments, which has led to the first indictments against Chinese nationals for fentanyl trafficking.
8: President Trump has ended the gag clauses that stopped pharmacists from informing patients about lower drug prices.
9: President Trump’s blueprint to lower drug prices has led more than a dozen drug manufactures to enact price freezes, rollbacks, or reductions.
10: In 2018, the FDA approved a record number of generic drugs which will lead to savings of $9billion for American patients.
11: ‘Right to Try’ legislation has expanded access to experimental treatments for terminally ill patients. This provides new treatment opportunities for patients who have tried all existing options.
12: An executive order passed in 2017 bans colleges and universities from receiving federal research grants if they fail to promote free speech.
13: The Department of Justice has received nearly $100million in grant funding to hire additional law enforcement officers.
14: President Trump’s policy of cracking down on the international crime gang MS-13 is starting to bear fruit. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations arrested nearly 800 MS-13 members in the fiscal year 2017, an 83 per cent increase on the previous year.
15: ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) arrested 158,581 aliens in the fiscal year 2018, an 11 per cent increase on the previous year. Ninety per cent of those arrested had criminal convictions, pending charges, or had been issued final orders of removal.
16: Removal of convicted criminal aliens increased by 14 per cent from 2017.
17: President Trump launched the office of Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE). The office’s mission is to ‘provide proactive, timely, adequate, and professional services to victims of crimes committed by removable aliens’.
18: The First Step Act is designed to boost prisoner rehabilitation and create a fairer sentencing system. Crack cocaine is a drug predominantly used in poor black communities; crimes related to crack cocaine carry sentences 18 months longer than crimes related to powder cocaine. More than 500 people with unfair sentences have been released from prison.
19: The Act also expands training programs to reduce recidivism.
20: The fight against ISIS is all but over. President Trump gave military commanders the authority to attack ISIS and this has led to ISIS losing nearly all of its territory, with more than half being liberated since President Trump took office.
21: All of ISIS’s territory in Iraq was liberated.
22: The National Defense Authorization Act of 2018 saw the largest military pay rise in nearly a decade.
23: The creation of a US Space Force is a much-needed initiative to catch up with Russia and China’s anti-satellite weapons. Ninety-five per cent of Space Force’s budget will come from funds transferred from other areas of the military, with only an additional annual increase of $500million (0.07 per cent of the Department of Defense budget).
24: Just as only Nixon could go to China, only Trump could meet Kim. Prior to the historic summit with Chairman Kim Jong-Un, the Trump administration obtained the release of three American hostages.
25: ‘Jaw-jaw is always better than war-war’: President Trump’s meeting with Chairman Kim has made a lasting peace more likely on the peninsula.
26: The Trump administration has closed two Russian compounds and expelled 35 diplomats in response to Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential election.
27: The administration also imposed sanctions against Russian agents for their efforts to cause harm to US cybersecurity.
28: The VA Mission Act has allowed eligible veterans to have access to walk-in community clinics that offer immediate, local care. The Department of Veterans Affairs has received a record $73.1billion in funding. This funding included $8.6billion for mental health services, $400million for opioid abuse prevention, and $206million for suicide prevention.
29: President Trump implemented a five-year ban on lobbying for White House employees and a lifetime ban on lobbying for foreign countries.
30: The President donates his salary to charity.
There seems to be a lack of knowledge about the President’s time in office; I hope this list has gone some way to start a sensible dialogue about his achievements.

This headline is drivel The charges are the same as the fake 'Jan 6th impeachment'. It is not illegal for a candidate in any election to ask of the Returning Official if the votes were correct, was the RO sure all the votes were counted properly. The substance of the 'phone call, which one can listen to, was clear the RO confirmed to trump he had lost Georgia. No influence was, or indeed could b e, brought to bear on the RO.
However, the ballots were 'stuffed' by the DNR in this and a few other States, so ALL Trumps votes could be counted and he would still never have enough, because yet more additional Biden votes would be 'found'.
Ifbiden was such afantastic candidate, getting more votes than Trump who had the highest vote historically at that time, Biden getting only 2 of the 21 Awing States' to Trump's 19 and 450 counties to Trump's 2500 then he was right to query the vote in Georgia which just edged Biden over the line.

@Mezzo396 Twaddle. You know nothing of trade agreements at all, in fact you think that the EU bloc is one, it is not, it is as Customs Union and regulatory system (the so called Single Market) which is inimical to trade, with external and even internal parties. Clearly you get your nonsense from the propaganda unit at the Barlaymont with your idiocy about 'chlorinated chicken' which is risible. The NHS is privatised and the US health sector would be unable to compete with UK suppliers or providers on price. The EU health sectors are privatised and work on a system of insurance. The EU is not a 'massive bloc' it is 6 nations plus another 19 which together do not equal the UK economy and certainly do not trade with each other in anything like the volume the UK did. But this is the usual nonsense pumped out by fools who know nothing of the actual facts. What about EU chlorinated vegetables, or donkey mince pretending to be beef, or infected Dutch eggs or most notably massive doses of anti-biotics in animals.
You seem to think that treaties between peaceable nations are a Zero Sum game. They are always mutually and your nonsense about citing US and China is stretching a point of your own as neither of thee have actually any treaties of the kind you pretend.
The UK as the second largest European domestic market, of the 5th largest economy, is very attractive to everybody, especially the EU which has now found it is losing exports to the UK but maintains its imports from it. That is the Guardian's 'loss in trade' as if it is a loss to the UK.
The UK already trades with the USA at a surplus under WTO, which is why Congress, of any colour, does not want an FTA with the UK. However, the attraction of the UK as a tradig partner is such that the TPPPT has INVITED the UK to join, the ONLY non-Pacific nation to do so and added to the Japanese economy as 3rd in World makes it the actually real biggest mutully beneficial trading partnership in the World. One which the US will associate with a sit has with the USCAMEX arrangement.

@ohdearism I see - so selling stuff to somebody who needs it is them having leverage - sure, so the EU has leverage over China and the US does it? Or maybe they just have no alternative to importing it - you know like the EU now sells less to the UK in goods, services are miniscule, than it used to before Brexit, but the UK has its largest exports to the EU ever in the last Quarter. You are deeply confused by two separate matters, the second is that ALL importing nations everywhere require that there regulatory measures are met. That is part of the Terms of Trade and you confuse that with 'leverage' Tell me, pray explain why the biggest trading and investment partner of the UK is the US followed by rest of the World and the UK has a surplus with them all under WTO?
Incidentally, you compound your ignorance of international trade with that of constitutional history and actual demographic movements within the British Isles. - Who do you think you are to claim you are speaking on behalf of 'the People of Britain' and what you allege their attitude is to NI and who are you to use vile, vicious and sectarian language to describe them as an 'extreme British Orange cult'? In fact most Irish people, RoI and NI, spend a major portion of their adult life in Britain, the RoI citizens have dual status within the UK,. What about if I called them "the Faiche Repoblichaine Plastic Paddy Green Erse Lickers of Brussels Cult in the 26 Counties" then? Bashing out their schmaltzy romantic songs about their victimhood narrative and drinking Guinness in pubs in Kilburn, Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham?
Ireland has not been 'united', if ever, and certainly not since 1922 when ever since it has taken every opportunity to move further away from the North.

@grahamfleming8139 Utter and complete TWADDLE and the usual vile, sectarian 'victimhood narrative' completely contrary to the facts of history. Ireland was NOT united until the Norman-Irish Clan Leaders became Feu to the Norman Kings. During the course of its history it was riven with civil wars induced by the Popes and Bourbons to destabilise the Anglo-Irish establishment and the the United Kingdom of Scotland and England. Napoleon tried the same tricks through the fake 'united' Irishmen, in fact agents of another civil war - the same divide and rule he used in the rest of Europe, until defeated by the Irish General Wellington.
Ireland became a representative democracy at the same time as the rest of the UK, the Irish Parliamentary Party forming coalitions with the Liberals in Victoria's reign, over represented in MP numbers in the Commons and peerage in the Lords compared to their electorates. The same voted for the same parties as in the rest of the UK were the elected Town and County councils in Ireland as everywhere, in the reformed local government and Parliamentary representation of the Georgian era. The Irish, LIKE the Scots were part of the united British imperial expansion.
The OBSCENITY of so called 'Irish republicanism' actually agents of European imperialist interest who would certainly never have give 'Ireland' any form of representative government in any puppet state they promise to the fanatics, who were promoted by Napoleon III, supported the Boers and stabbed the Irish Regiments in the back in 1916 for the Kaiser - brave. Even when given independence they caused two civil wars, one against the Unionists and one against each other! But to make up for that, they were UNIQUELY the only Commonwealth nation not to declare war on the Third Reich, again 'brave'.
Your typical IGNORANCE about the size of the RoI economy, Leprechaun Accountancy, based on Rainbows ending at the Blarney Stone. It's Standard of Living is 20% lower than the NI. Even the Head of the Irish Central bank admitted this.
As for Scotlnd - the MAJORITY of Scots do NHOT want the fake independence that the SNP promote - so like the Faiche Repoblichaines of the RoI, a variant of Erse Licking of Brussels and Gaerlic Spewing Bile instead of actual policies.

What is this?
TRUMP was the most successful President since Teddy Roosevelt.

@juliegregory3900 Now let me explain your ignorance, dogma an dbrainwashing:-
1) The 'loss of trade' is entirely due to the UK reducing its imports from the EU, yes a decline in trade with the EU to the UK's advantage by reducing the deficit and substituting better value from elsewhere. That is not a loss of UK exports to the EU, no change in fact higher than ever.
2) The UK is still the employment destination of choice for EU nationals, we have the largest EU expat population of any European nation. Nor need any of these people have returned home, if they did, as opposed to the insanity of the EU promoted Vax mandates.
3) Hospitality industry was the same, covid not Brexit. People could not move as they used to. However, I have noticed no decline in hospitality staff in London, in fact most of them are so young they came after the EU-UK 'deal'. So not true again.
4) The same again with slauhgter houses and food picking.
'According to our farmers' you mean the subsidised non-producing land owners like Heseltine and the likes of Sainsburys.
BUT THE SCENARIO you outlined existed ONLY in the imagination of the BBC and Guardian. Just like the so called crisis at Dover, which is due to .. the EU not abiding by their obligations.
I wonder why we can't increase wages to give our own people work instead, but of course the destruction of working class living standards through the Fake 'Freedom of Movement' principle, which works ONLY from the EU into the UK an dnot vide versa is the most obscene of all EU policies.
"If we leave the EU who will serve my coffee' or clean your bathroom.
5) Whatever the details of the Australia deal, you fanatics had no problem with the anti-UK agribusiness policies of the EU CAP, pay for non-production, which were anti-competitive, yet do against Australia which can under cut the EU price fixing system of the SM-CU. Still with the closing down of the Dutch agribusiness even the EU shall need to get the produce from elsewhere.
6) You are clearly unaware that the EU cannot negotiate deals which are designed for the benefit of all members and there is no way the EU can join the CPTPP. A few bilateral deals, the one with Japan has a 'implementation tail' of at least 12 years, the UK joining CPTPP gets it fully straight away. You also appear wholly ignorant of the distrust the rest of the World has in the EU fulfilling its obligations under agreements - you presumably have blanked out the Mercasur meat deal of some years ago which the EU reneged on.
Of course you fanatics claimed the UK would be shunned by other nations, when in fact the UK is the ONLY non-regional nation INVITED to join this. This has become the World's largest trading association because the UK joined it, ie Japan as World 2nd economy with UK as 5th. The EU has lost 20% of its value and its second largest European domestic market after Leave. Also 19 of the 27 members combined barely equal the UK GDP but they actually do not trade with each other at all, their main export is people and their main income repatriated earnings from the .. well the UK.
7) I have dealt with the so called 'fraction of trade' with the EU which has declined due to the UK now importing better value substitutes from elsewhere, the entire UK Trade Surpluses come from non-EU under WTO. The UK will eventually run a surplus with the EU, NOTHING has been lost in value by leaving this racket.

@Alexander-vo4gv I am talking about they have no idea how to use these assets - even if they worked, they don't.
And they don't have either of those things - so you fall for propaganda.
Let me now educate you in the operational history of the PLA:-
1) The last major war, ie involving Western forces, it fought was Korea. This involved the 'Human Waves' tactic to push back to conclude it with the original border being agreed for ceasefire. The MIG 15s there were manned by Soviet pilots.
2) marching into Tibet, a nation with no army, or Xinkiang which had a population smaller than Peking and largely nomadic is hardly an indication of military prowess.
3) There were a series of border skirmishes in the Himalayas with India, in the late 1960s, over a few ridges which was something to do with internal politics among the CCP . The Indian armed forces are the most experienced in Southern and South East Asia, having fought and won four wars against Pakistan in land, sea and air campaigns.
4) In 1979 China invaded Northern Vietnam, this was in support of the Khmer Rouge which the Vietnamese had invaded and taken over. The PLA was surrounded, destroyd and withdrew after claiming 'victory' . This victory seems not to have stopped the occupation of Cambodia, maybe it referred to Vietnam forces not marching in to take over southern China!
And ... erm that is it with the PLA ! No modern combined arms experience in almost 45 years. Any invasion of Taiwan would end in humiliation in the Straight and the overthrow of Xi by his enemies.

@jacquelinebrunder2384 Brainwashed ignorant twaddle:- THIRTY ACHIEVEMENTS There seems to be a lack of knowledge about President Trump’s time in office; I hope this list has gone some way to start a sensible dialogue about his achievements.

@Titus9508 You are completely ignorant of the entire period It is you that does not understand. . No decision was made in the British Parliament. The LoN Mandate adopted by the UN in 1945 was followed by the British and they then left.
It is your sort of drivel being promoted that causes the problems. Nor do you speak for the Middle East, most of the nations in the region were created by Britain and France as part of the decolonisation of the Ottoman Empire and those borders are the ones followed by those nations. .Apart from Iran and its proxies, the terrorists of Hamas etc and the Syrian regime all of the nations in the region accept the peace treaties with Israel.
But Twaddle peddlers like yourself believe the vile terrorist propaganda which cares nothing for the Gazans.
Indeed the Juvvish populations of the M@zl1m nations is numbered in just a few hundreds their having been persecuted by those governments and they left for elsewhere, mainly Isr@el. ..

TRUTH ABOUT GAZA
Arab blogger, Hoda Jannat is shocked by what she has learned about Gaza since the beginning of the war. In a fearless post, she describes her revelations from the war process and exposes the comfortable life that Gaza residents and Hamas organization leaders have grown accustomed to, thanks to Israel's support. The post uncovers the hypocrisy of the Hamas organization by highlighting the actual conditions of Gazans prior to the war. Here is how she presents it:
1. in the Gaza Strip, where 2 million people live, there are 36 hospitals. There are Arab countries with a population of 30 million that do not have that many hospitals.
2. that Gaza receives free water, electricity, gas and fuel from Israel. Of course, there is not a single Arab citizen anywhere else who does not pay for water, electricity and fuel.
3. Gaza receives $30 million a month from Qatar alone. And $120 million a month from UNRWA; $50 million a month from the European Union and $30 million a month from the United States. There are Arab countries drowning in debt and they can't find anyone who can give them even a million dollars.
4. there was no "siege" in Gaza and all goods are flowing there and the borders are open. Gazans went to Egypt and from there to the whole world.
5. that people live better in Gaza than in many Arab countries. And its residents live much better than many Arab countries.
6. the minds of many Egyptians were programmed by the lies of the Muslim Brotherhood media.
7. that the children in Gaza are not children as we usually think, but children of terrorists with machine guns and suicide belts who have received special training from Hamas.
8. schools, hospitals and mosques in Gaza are organized terrorist barracks and ammunition depots with Hamas subway tunnels.
9. in Gaza there is a Hamas terrorist "subway" system stretching 500 kilometers that Israel can only envy ifit were a transport system.
10. Gaza's so-called doctors and teachers turned out to be active Hamas terrorists.
11. rockets and mortars are kept in the children's rooms of Gaza homes.
12. that Hitler and his book "Mein Kampf" are very popular in Gaza, and its Arabic translation was in almost every house in Gaza, or a portrait of the author.
13. Hamas leasders live a life of luxury, with multi-story mansions with swimming pools and top-of-the-line German automobiles.
14. there is no Israeli blockade on Gaza because it still borders its Muslim brother Egypt.
15. the majority of Gaza's "citizens" support Hamas and other terrorist groups, elected Hamas in democratic elections and celebrated the massacre on October 7.
16. that the so-called reporters and journalists in Gaza working for the Western media CNN, AP, Reuters and others turned out to be Hamas terrorists who participated in the massacre on October 7.
17. that so-called 'peace activists' and 'international human rights organization workers' from the UN, Red Cross and WHO, turned out to be Hamas terrorists and corrupt.
18. that each of the main Hamas leaders is a multi-millionaire and richer than President Trump, with a net worth of between $4 and $5 billion each.

@htlein Do you get a special rate when sitting in the Barlaymont Basement Misinformation and Propaganda Unit on Sundays?
1) The EU member states have NO control over the Commission.
2) The EU is NOT representative , the only assembly that pretends to that is the Parliament which has NO status to contradict Legislation, the Council, the CoPeRes (look it up you ignoramus.) the ECJ or the Commission. Gisella Stuart MP, an Anglo-German national educate din Europe was sent as the U delegate to the 'Constitutional Drafting' meetings under D'Estang (eventually magicked up as the 'Lisbon Treaty') by Blair as a Pro -EU safe pair of hands - she came away so disillusioned this convinced her the EU had to be rolled back or the UK had to Leave, she chaired the Leave Campaign.
3) The 'rules ' are not discussed - if they were why is it the Commission tries to impose them on Germany, Poland and Hungary ? It is almost as if they were ever consulted in the first place as this came as a surprise to them.
4) Scratch a FANATIC and IDIOT like you reading the Commission handouts and you find that they - ie YOU - know nothing about the EU system at all.
5) NOW YOU EDUCATE YOURSELF FROM HOW THE COMMISSION RUNS EVERYTHING ON GLOBALIST PRINCIPLES :-
A perusal of the administrative arrangements shows how the Qualified Majority Vote (ie a Vote weighted towards the tadpole Nations - 21 of them) is manipulated by the Commission through the use of Bribes (sorry I meant to use the technical expression 'Development Grants') and 'the Union Policies' represented by the Commission as Agreed, before any actual discussion:-
1) Treaties and other Formal Documents Agreed in general principle based on the Treaty of Rome ‘general principles and Monet Declaration;
2) EUroCommission 'tasked' with implementation policy - these are sent to the EUroCouncil of Ministers for 'approval' (with the explanation the Council cannot overturn what is in the Treaties and FDs - see 1));
3) A Committee of the Commissioners, the 'Committee of the Permanent Representatives' plus members of the Council, plus representatives of the EUroParl hold a meeting 'The Trialogues' to detail the Legislation to put forward to the EUroParl with the rider that the Council has Approved the intentions - (see 2));
4) The EUroParl accepts the draft Legislation - the EUro Commission President tells them to Accept it because of 1), 2) and 3). The EUroParl passes it.
5) The Legislation directly applies to the individual Nations and is applied without debate or amendment as their own Laws and Directives. If anybody objects they are referred to 1 to 4.

@aaronmicalowe Her entire career has been based on race baiting and grifting; she has lived a lie all her life : - Abbott's lived truth is that she went to a fee paying selective school, Harrow County, went to Newnham College Cambridge, landed a cushy job from it as ... a Race Relations Advisor at NCCL, went to a roles in day time TV reporting on 'race relations' at same time became a Councilor, being given paid time off for it from the job. She was 'active' in the Black caucus in the Labour Party, promoting special status for a racial group, her own,. All this before 30 then she became a Press and PR officer at the GLC for Livingstone and then Lambeth Council, the corrupt and bankrupt far left group appointed her. Then more of the same as this set her up nicely to become an MP in 1987 having nothing but grifting roles before. This is a model seen so often since, never done a real experience job, just lobbyist and politics, but with a racial spin. She has NEVER suffered discrimination or prejudice.
Just when did she have any 'truth and experience' other than her own semi-careerist one in promoting racial differences and claiming she was a minority and a victim.

@mattsmith1859 What trash - all of these non-arguments were trotted out in 2016 and answered then.
1) Nobody has veto power of EU regulations - the system does not work like that and your ignorance of the EU structure is manifest in that statement. To my knowledge there has never been a UK 'veto' and all 'regulations' were pushed through by the Commission using QMV (look it up).
2) The UK only has to follow non-tariff restrictions on regulations - they are not 'standards' on Exports to the EU as indeed does everybody else. The UK follows US standards in exports to the US, Indian standards to India etc etc. As far as I am aware the UK is not a US State nor an Indian one either.
3) The UK does trade with the EU Single market IN FACT our exports to it have risen to record levels but EU imports into UK fallen as alternative sources of better value are substituted. The UK is the second largest domestic market in Europe. Of course you brainwashed fanatics describe this as a 'decline in UK-EU trade' is if it is somehow a negative for the UK.
4) Freedom of Movement - you mean that the UK is the LARGEST employment centre and domicile of EU nationals in Europe of course. Oddly this works one way ONLY., I have never met a waiter in a Rome restaurant from Newcastle and there are no Geordies forming 1005 of the Baristas in the Tallinn Kosta-Lotta Koffee bars. The UK is still the main destination for EU nationals to study outside their country in Europe. Again, very few UK nationals bother with the fourth rate universities of Europe - ohh except Zurich, sorry, not in EU is it! In my professional employment I never have a problem in employment in the EU, nor Malaysia or the USA for that matter. However, many UK nationals retire to EU nations, AND STILL DO SO as financially independent, unlike the low paid benefit supported EU Nationlas here..
5) I have answered this at 4 - the UK and everybody else is having the same shortages - you being totally ignorant and brainwashed are completely unaware that Germany has a Lorry Driver -HGV shortage than the UK.
6) So NO BENEFITS TO UK NULL POINHTE TO EU! Did I mention you are ignorant, brainwashed and unaware of the FACTS.

Why is this imbecile being interviewed? H eis a EU fanatic and Anti-Trump. The UK has NEVER been aligned in policy with Europe.
For all of my life - I am over 70 - the UK had been described as 51st State! As for the US taking 'more notice of Ireland' ths si untrue - The 'Oirishism' of Democrat politicians is a pose for a margin of votes in the North East States. RoI has neglable trade with the US and is not in NATO.
Actually it would be a good idea to be 51st State - the UK would have the largest presence in the House, plus two Senators, perhaps eight if we joined as four states, and would have the largest Electoral College Vote, thereby guaranteeing pro-British presidents.
1) The UK has a trade advantage with the US. That is why the US Dept of Trade and Congress do not want any trade deal.
2) The UK is the largest investor in the US and this is reciprocated in the UK.
3) The UK and US share foreign policy aims.
4) The 'special relationship' with the US is in Nuclear arsenals, military basing and intelligence sharing ie GCHQ-Five Eyes. That is the geo politics. The rest is cultural.
5) All Americans I know, Dem or Rep are Anglophiles, they are all establishment types, Ivy League, Oxford- Rhodes. He presumably only knows Guardian reading-WaPo and NYT readers, guess what, they hate Americans too!.
6) This guy says 'outside London' the UK has an economy the size of Mississippi; has he been there? NOT TRUE - he is inventing a general statistic - the GDP of rest of UK is not lower than Mississippi. The 'Median income spread over its 3 miilion inhabitants is just $45.500 (take out the capital metro of Jackson of 600,000 and it is even less. The UK's is GDP PC £56,000 for 67.5million people. That simple arithmetic shows he is being selective, indeed inventive!.
7) What is the disadvantage to the UK in its realtionship with the US.

@drdecco1 Myth not reality , I am more Irish Catholic than Biden incidentally, - all part of the victimhood narrative of the Faiche Repoblichaine fascist movement. The summary executions and disappearance of Irish Unionists and government officials, the murder of RIC members, the 'stab in the back' in 1916 'uprising spasm'.
You think that uniquely in the UK everybody was sitting around drinking tea and suddenly somebody said 'let's go after the Irish' by using the Irish ? Most of the units were Irish, but of course as ultra-sectarian fanatics these people (and I suspect yourself) will not allow people to be 'Irish' unless they sign up to the false ideology of 'anti-Britishness' ie in being Unionists. Just what was it that the IRA-IRB, or whatever these fanatical terrorists' designation was at any time, claimed to be 'fighting' for? The constitutionalist Irish Nationalist party was in elected control of most of the local councils, the majority of the Parliamentary Seats - they even held one in Liverpool - and were having a rational negotiation about 'home rule' with Lloyd George and the Coalition when their pretend campaign for liberation was undertaken.
What did it result in - the ultra sectarian First Civil War, which resulted in 'Home Rule' that was already on offer and to celebrate their 'victory' in that they held another Civil War with each other.
But the icing on the cake, yet more terrorist outrages across Ireland and the UK off and on for the next 70 years , including an alliance with the Nazis against the 'Brits'' and actually against De Valera too.
There could have been a 'United Ireland' from 1922 until today like there had been for centuries before, United Under The Crown.

@paulfenton7776 The usual lies and rubbish, you make it up as you go along. Do you get paid by the Misinformation Unit in the Barlaymont ? The only stupid mistake the UK made was joining the EEC in the first place and as a Labour activist in the 1970s (along with Foot, Benn and Shore) we warned of the dangers of the Rome Treaty. We lost the argument 2 to 1 then. After 40 years we won the argument by the largest vote for anything in British history.
The EU and US are not 'working' on anything. The EU - and you pro-EU fanatics, claim that the US has 'lower standards' especially in its competitive agri-produce. What sort of 'negotiation' can be held on that basis? This was the LIE you people promoted about the UK and US agreeing food imports. The EU is protectionist and inefficient except for Holland which i now being closed down for insane Net Zero reasons. The UK is the US's largest European and mutual Investing partner. So the UK is already ahead of the EU. You are not aware that Canada only entered into an agreement with the EU to get easier access to its largest European market, the UK!
More LIES about UK being 'bullied' into agreements with Aus NZ, these were not 'unfavourable' at all, the UK agri-sector had been hollowed out by EU-CAP rules , still followed by DEFRA because they want to Rejoin. There was never any complaint from the UK farming interests about the way they were disadvantaged by EU price fixing and 'standards' , ie anti-competitive regulatory measures, in the EU and policies that stopped UK farming from exporting to alternative markets because of those policies and trade barriers. Basically, 'free EU 'single market' competition for UK is 'good' but with anybody else 'bad'. In fact the SM is intended to be anti-competitive. The EU is the biggest trade bully in the metropolitan nations, especially within the EU.
There is no 'high table' of the EU because it is run by an incompetent anti-democratic bureaucracy, and the EU is NOT the biggest trading anything,. By 'Trade Bloc' - you mean it is a 'Block On Trade' and the UK reduced it by 20%. the UK has had no overall loss in value of exports to it, the recent 'decline in trade' is that we no longer import as much from it. Some 19 of the members states only just equal the UK GDP but they do not actually trade to the same level within the EU as the UK does. There main export is their people and main import repatriated wages to from actually the UK!.
You may not have noticed but the UK as the Fifth largest economy has just joined by invitation', the largest trading association in the World, the CPTPP, because the UK economy makes it so as second largest member only to Japan. This will create by the US joining the very 'deal' that you claim is either inimical to the UK or better if the EU is involved.
Perhaps you should see a psychoanalyst to find out how you can entertain permanent anti-British double-think on these matters. .

@abbykickass3210 The Azov Legion may adopt Nazi insignia and be anti-Russian but are you aware of why they do so?
The Russians - Soviets were NOT the biggest contributor to the defeat of Nazism , they just had more casualties which is hardly a measure of success especially as their own leaders calculated precisely that the lives of their own civilians and soldiers were of no consequence.
Stalin, the Soviets, actively encouraged and allied themselves with Germany to carve up Poland and then took over the Baltic States and invaded Finland. They got a battering there, needing to outnumber the Finns at 100 to 1 to get even a draw and were careful to sign a Peace Treaty with them in 1944.
Thirty years after the Fascist Soviet system collapsed useful idiots still repeat the nauseous propaganda of it in regard to a War they pretend did not happen ('Great patriotic War) not World War 2) and that the only Front was the one they were on. A military victory there was only achieved because of the gigantic materiel support of the western Allies, tanks, planes, trucks, artillery, steel, ammunition and food.
People like you believe in an obscenity..

@gordonbradley3241 You are delusional. Firstly, you know full well there is NO majority in Scotland for independence, 2m voted to Remain-UK and only 1.6m to Remain-EU on a lower turnout - stop bleating. However, to destroy all of your pathetic, victimhood, sectarian nonsense let's just engage with your statements, one by one:-
2) a handful of Seats in Brussels in a Parliament which has no authority as opposed to the 70 or so Scotland has in Westminster. So fewer voices, fewer votes NO Veto - wake up to the latest from Brussels -Junker Verhofstadt 'commission' are moving to to abolish that, which is NEVER used anyway.
2) Scotland will not get ANY respect in the EU, the Bureaucracy treats even Germany with contempt and bribes the tadpole nations - 19 of them, to vote as the Commission pleases. That would be Scotland's lot, mind you the SNP-Sturgeon will make a fortune out of it.
3) What 'sneering' etc? All Scots I know in England are respected. The SNP is detested because guess what ? Why it spends all of its time " strutting, swaggering sneering snarling " at 'the English as it calls the UK and of course Scots Unionists.
4) What 'extractive exploitation English colonial domination' is it that Scotland receives 20% additional budgetary allowance per head from the UK Treasury than England and that Holyrood 's Public Expenditure is 30% higher than its revenue which is covered by the UK Treasury.

Who are the 'victims' of Israel you f@sc1st?

Dazz Hughes Of course the real reason that Hitler said 'I don't want war with Britian' is because in the longrun he knew he would LOSE. Where do you idiots get your nonsense from? You are probably a Holocaust Denier as well. - You will tell us next he didn't want war with, France, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Yugoslavia, Greece, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Norway, Luxembourg, the USSR and finally the USA. He only bothered to declare war on the USA formally, he just marched into the rest.

@nigelsynnott7344 the punt was at a fixed level to the pound. there was NO independent policy.
Yes, a mark of neutrality - for the Faiche Repoblichaines to demonstrate their sympathy for the Axis. Not unusual in their history of course. After all they always supported, like the good puppets they are, ALL European Tyrants - the Pope, the Stuarts, the Bourbonnes, Bonaparte, Napoleon III, the Kaiser, the Boers for good measure, and after the Axis the EU. Very brave to demonstrate a neutrality which was in their own vile, vicious and sectarian purely imaginary narrative.

@Maryhadalam Israel has had Peace treaties with most of the regional nations for decades, since it won the Yom Kippur War.
The Iranian Theocratic Fanatical regime has spent a fortune trying to destabilise those nations and funds terrorist organisations within them. Part of this is the constant misrepresentation of Israel among ordinary Muslims, ignoring the fact that Juvvish populations of those countries were ethnically cleansed through legislation against them and expulsions.
There are 1.2 Billion M@zl1ms in the World living in millions of square miles of Africa and Asia. There are 15 million J6vvs of which 8 million live in Isr@el, which is the size of Wales or New Hampshire. Yet somehow Isr@el is the problem.

Indeed the Jewish populations of the M@zl1m nations is numbered in just a few hundreds their having been persecuted by those governments and they left for elsewhere, mainly Isr@el. ..

@VincentRE79 WRONG - Sunak is already the MOST disastrous. the Money Printing is a useful tool in certain economic circumstances, counter cyclical spending as a multiplier effect. On Sunak's watch it increased exponentially and actually created the crisis itself - there was no economic malaise to be cured by this method when he introduced it. What happened under Sunak - the Treasury-EU-WEF puppet - is as follows:-
1) He agreed to the Lockdown and then the so called 'Furlough Scheme', which actually made the Lockdown popular with the Public Sector employees, who were the main recipients of Pay for No Work, who contributed to the 'popular view' it was a 'good thing'. This caused inflation in a Stagnant economy, in fact declining economy - ie Stagflation.
2) Sunak then created further Public Expenditure, Money Printing, by offering 'subsidies' to 'Eat Out'. People would have done so with their enforced savings from non-social activity during Lockdown.
3) On the relaxation from Lockdown there was a Recovery. By adopting Maastricht Euro Convergence Rules on Fiscal and Deficit Margins, irrelevant to UK economy-Sterling, Sunak announced NIC- Tax Increases during the Recovery, choking it off. The Deficit at that point could be managed and afforded through the increasing Tax Receipts for the Recovery and GDP expansion. The Sunak policy has caused Stagflation, Tax Increases are inflationary as central Public Expenditure reducing individual choice in the market. Tax Cuts allow boost to Recovery as discretionary, necessary private expenditure the market can react to as genuine demand.
Frankly, as Badenoch and Truss have already laid this out as EU scheme we should scrap she has my vote.

There has been an awful lot of heat and noise, but very little light, as various politicians and pundits and other gravy-train riders reacted with predictable confected fury to the Government’s decision to scrap the northern leg of the HS2 train. One of the many complaints is that, if Britain is to be a modern economy, then we should have loads of high-speed trains just like France and Germany. Unfortunately, those making this argument seem to have forgotten what little they may have learnt in their O Level geography.
Now let me explain why it is totally ludicrous to have high-speed trains in a tiny country like England.
France is a big country – about 640,000 km². Germany is quite a big country too – 357,592 km². The U.K. is a small country – about 242,000 km². England is an even smaller country – 130,000 km². So, France is five times the size of England and Germany is almost three times as large as England. Both France and Germany have extensive high-speed rail networks. It makes sense to have high-speed trains in a large country. It doesn’t make sense to have high-speed trains in a small country.
Now let’s go a bit deeper. The French train route from Paris to Lyon to Marseilles can probably be seen as comparable to the U.K. train route from London to Birmingham to Manchester in terms of how it connects major cities. But the differences in distances are huge. Paris to Lyon is 292 miles, whereas London to Birmingham is only 128 miles. And Lyon to Marseilles is 195 miles, whereas Birmingham to Manchester is a mere 86 miles.
Or if we take Germany, the route from Berlin to Frankfurt to Munich could also be compared to HS2’s London to Birmingham to Manchester. The distance from Berlin to Frankfurt is 341 miles – much more than London to Birmingham’s 128 miles. And the distance from Frankfurt to Munich is 244 miles – considerably more than Birmingham to Manchester’s measly 86 miles.
The much greater distances in France and Germany justify high-speed rail networks. But squandering over £100bn on cutting just a few minutes off the train time from London to Birmingham and then even fewer minutes off the train journey from Birmingham to Manchester is utterly ludicrous. And I won’t even mention the fact that HS2 might not even ever get to Euston station.
There never was and never will be any need for a high-speed train network in England. The distances are simply too short. On the now-cancelled Birmingham to Manchester leg, the train would hardly have enough time to get up to speed before it had to slow down. Why the political, bureaucratic and engineering geniuses who planned the whole thing couldn’t see this more-than-minor geographical problem defeats me.
This matters because building a high-speed line is much more expensive than building a traditional (say Intercity 125) line. The track has to be much higher specification to support the higher speeds and the line has to be much straighter than a conventional line meaning there is less flexibility to go round geographical hindrances like hills. So, if Britain really needed extra capacity on the London to Birmingham to Manchester route, we should have just built a much cheaper traditional rail line. Or even cheaper still, just upgraded all the signalling to allow more trains per hour on the existing track.
One other argument for building HS2 that has surfaced more recently is that some people are now using the environemental excuse for the thing. They claim the line will provide more capacity for freight trains thus reducing the number of lorries on our roads and helping to ‘save the planet’. But if carrying freight is the priority, you don’t need a high-speed line or even an Intercity 125 line. Most freight doesn’t mind if the train travels at just 50 or 60 mph.
I hate to be positive about any politician, but Sunak has made the right decision by scrapping the Birmingham to Manchester 86-mile section. I find it more than slightly surprising that during all the furious arguments about the decision nobody, as far as I know, has mentioned the utter stupidity of having high-speed trains in a tiny country like England. But maybe this is to be expected as we now live in an age of unreason where opinions matter much more than facts.

@indogoUI Hello DCIK#6@D, spouting your usual ignorant trash . The Conservatives are in crisis because they do not want to implement Brexit despite having a majority to do so, each PM is destabilised by this, the majority of Tory MPs being pro-EU but their members and voters being against. The Belfast GFA is dead because of the NIP so it is not about 'peace' ,'borders' or trade. The NIP was invented and implemented by the Remainer Parliament of 2017-19 with the EU as a device to keep the whole UK in the EU system. Art 16 can resolve the issue, as can scrapping the C&TA. Sunak-Empty Suit is a pro-Globalist shill with little interest in UK or Irish communities and cannot alter anyhting unless he implements Art 16 - the present blather is diplomatic pretence which he believes is reality - just like all of his policies..
You know less about India's history than he does about Ireland, or India for that matter.
India had self governance from the 1880s with a tiny group of British administrators. and its upper classes, who were entirely British, in education, culture and language. they formed parties which had massive representation and in 1932 the Halifax Report recommended the Raj be given Dominion status as per Canada, News Zealand, Australia and South Africa.
The only fighting was between themselves after independence on religious sectarian lines between the and the new Pakistan and India.

@maxwild1212 The UK does not have to enact EU directives on anything it does not want to. The Treasury can drop Maastricht guidlines. the DERFRA can drop the CAP . The DoEnergy can adopt non-Eco Loon policies; the DTI can support UK industry and employment without reference to the Commission or ECB. It also means there is less wriggle room for UK civil servants and politicians to say "I agree, but this is now decided in Brussels" which actually means "Can't do anything about it , nor can you so buzz off.2.
Of course, you are so IGNORANT, you understand none of these points.
Do you want to discuss the economic stasis of the last 20 years plus since Italy and Spain's adoption of the EUro? Greece's permanent bankruptcy, or the Demographic Collapse of the Baltic and Balkans? Somehow these facts never cross your befuddled mind.
The UK consumer already benefits from the removal of CET from non-EU sources - you clearly do not go to your local supermarket do you.
Let us now deal with your manifest ignorance as outlined in your final sentences:
1) there was never any advantage to the UK and its people of being in the EU, its policies aimed at destruction of not just every nation state but especially British industry, commerce and manufacture and the Tobin tax proposals were aimed at destroying our Financial and Consulting Services sectors.
2) We always traded at a deficit in the so called 'Single Market' yet at a Surplus with non-EU under WTO. Freedom of Movement was a sham - it just meant Europeans came to the UK, some 6.5m being the largest EU expat permanent residents in Europe.
3) Brits have always retired to Europe and non-EU nations - notably, Spain, Portugal, Greece before they joined. The better healed to South France and Italy. Professionals like myself can still work in the EU - I am retired now - but in all my years in being in business in Europe I never met a British Barista in Vilnius or an English waiter in a restaurant in Rome.
4) Hardly any UK Students go and study in the third rate University Sector of 'EU'rope -not a single one in the World Top 20 (Zurich is so, but that is not EU), nope UK universities are the preferred choice in Europe and among non-Europeans too. The Erasmus Programme meant UK tax payers paid for their education too.
5) Don't give me the 'hearts and Flowers' and 'Peace ' Guff - the EEC and EU could not have got underway withotu the UK-US inspired NATO and all the new eastern bloc joined it before the EU.
6) I see you regard democratic choice in the largest electoral choice in British history and not a 'narrow victory, is a 'holy cow'. You condescending, supercilious h@£f vv!t.
7) Clearly you have NO legal knowledge at all, as the referendum arrangements were made under an Act of Parliament, the result was turned into a further Act, the Withdrawal Notice was another Act and the conjoint treaty with the EU was also approved by a a fourth Act. That is 'legal weight' and it was also in concordance with Art 50 of the Lisbon Treaty.
It is fanatics like you who are ignorant of the reality of what the EU actually is that makes me proud that the BRITISH KNEW WHAT THEY VOTED FOR and it is not the make believe and fantasy of ignoramuses like you.

@raypurchase801 I think I should be overwhelmingly nasty to frankly. It is no good trying to pretend to some advanced knowledge based on a supposition of something you think that you know post facto. This is the procedure of a faux intellectual.
Let's take apart your last sentence 'Netanyahu/ Mossad must have known something was coming', yep, the blood curdling Hamas terrorists were plotting an outrage against Israel, who would have thought otherwise? The point was that this is against a background of constant rocket firing, infiltration of murder-suicide attacks across Israel at all times. What is more the leadership of Hamas and Jihadists scream a constant, daily diet of genocidal doomsday statements against Israel and Jews.
Like so many of your kind, pretending to intellect, you seem unaware that if Israel did not want Gaza to exist it need not have withdrawn from there in 2006. The IDF was sent in to physically remove the Israeli settler who had bough the land from Arabs, they were paid compensation by Israel and the PA given the land for free. Israel does not need a reason to occupy Gaza as it had no intention of doing so from 2006. Israel did a deal of 'Land for Peace' with the PLO-Fatah and since then has had no peace. Indeed Hamas murdered the Al Fatah representatives in Gaza. You also seem to be unaware that the number of work permits issued to Gazans had increased over the last year, which Israel regards as a process of peaceful normalisation. Hamas does not do normal. In fact it was the process of normalisation and the extension of Trump's Abraham Accords to Saudi and Gulf States that set off the recent Hamas tactic of 'all or nothing' , being a death cult they prefer nothing. Israel did not cause thsi attack by ignorance which seems to be your inference. Its policy was to isolate Hamas and indeed the PA - PLO from the Arab nations, something that Jordan and Egypt fully support.

@kevonslims7269 You live in a world of make believe. No - honestly, the Guardian writing its usual fantasies is not a brain drain. In fact I suggest the authors of this nonsense have brains full of the stuff that goes down drains. The biggest destination in Europe for professionally qualified people is the UK, before and after Brexit. The UK is the preferred European destination for the rest of the World's professionals.
I note you do not proffer a single counterfactual argument apart from BLATHER.
Farage did not say anything of the kind - reminds me of when the Guardian claimed that Farage had demanded that Brexit be stopped three weeks after the Referendum., BILGE. Same sort of BILGE as that London would cease to be the FS Centre of Europe, still won't happen. More in London FS that the EU added together .
The EU is not in a position to let anything 'GO' of the UK, the 'GO' is their leading academics who 'GO' to the UK. There is no brain drain to the EU from the UK. A handful of EU funded academics have to return home because of their funding. That is not a drain. You are of course unaware that the EPA (look it up) was supposedly withdrawing from London and transferring to the EU; it is an EU body. Unfortunately, although the organisation moved, it transferred to the UK government its building and resources its scientists stayed in London and the EU had to try and rebuild it from scratch in Amsterdam.
I have already covered the point TWICE that it is UK academic establishment that likes their expenses perqs jaunts to Europe, not for research but for the holiday. Also the 'Horizon' is promoted by the Civil Service as to why the UK should be 'more cooperative' with the EU, which is precisely why we should not. However, the T&CA bound the EU to co-operate with the UK in the Horizon programme. I am glad they have not, because it proves that the EU have breached their international obligations and a treaty commitment and therefore we should scrap the T&CA for their non-compliance.
May I add that you are an ignorant brainwashed half wit .

@Innoruuk What you understand about international trade can be written on a back of a stamp! I see you believe all the nonsense.
1) The UK has 'easier trade ' with all nations, as does every other nation under WTO.. The 'red tape' exists within the EU . The EU is about red tape and regulations.
2) The LIES are those you promote - the environmental, safety and food standards are higher in the UK. That was proven during the Romanian Donkey Mince scandal.
3) and those that differ are adopted by the EU as part of their bureaucratic over regulation which has NOTHING to do with consumer protection or interests.
4) What fantasy worlds do you live in that the EU ahs an even bigger immigrant crisis -- in Italy, Greece, Germany and France than the UK has. How is it easier to have 'easier holidays and easier travel' in the EU ? I have never refused access, employment or holidays there.
5) Oh, please explain why the primary holiday city of Europe is London and why the principal destination of EU nationals outside their own country is the UK, for vacations, for employment and education ?
6) Nor does the EU have any status whatsoever on the international stage - last time I looked t it was not in the G7 , the UN Security Council, tasked with peace keeping activities in the World. .
There is no list that goes on to anything. Everybody laughs at the EU because it is a jumped up set of bureaucrats which represents BRUSSELS ie Half Belgium.

@gweightman UTTER TWADDLE - look at the FACTS. Trump got the largest vote for an incumbent in Presidential history, higher than Obama's second term. Trump actually got more votes of any Republican in every demographic that was of a Democrat core, Blacks, Hispanics, North East Labor Unionists, white middle class women, than Obama's previous take, clearly these people had enough of the empty suit poseur they had voted for previously.
Biden somehow got even more votes WITHOUT campaigning, Trump won 70% of US State Counties, Biden's wins in marginals were ALL postal ballots sent in allegedly weeks before the count but some how 'discovered' after midnight when the count was supposedly halted. Somehow it is improper of a candidate, Trump, to ask his election managers to do their duty in finding the votes the polls show he should have.
Let's put this total fraud of the Dems/ Biden into electoral perspective. Biden never campaigned, he and Harris's total attendance at ALL their election meetings, hardly rallies', combined was lower than ONE held by Mike Pence. If Biden is such a fantastic Candidate (actually Manchurian) then why did the Dems not run him instead of Obama in 2008 and HR Clinton in 2016?

@liestricks All the usual stuff and nonsense, ignorant twaddle and propaganda of the Barlaymont Basement Disinformation Unit. Apart from your ignorance there is your make believe - WHICH US PRESIDENT promoted Brexit ? Obama actually came to the UK to threaten us all on behalf of Cameron and Biden keeps wetting hios pants over the NIP and the now DEAD GFA. Putin was very much pro-EU because its Energy Policy was to rely on Gazprom and Nordsee Pipelines . I do not recall that the UK was a customer for these?
Art 16 of teNIP is not 'breaking the agreement' it is part of the agreement the NIP NOT the T7CA and Art 16 was IMPLEMENTED by Uvd Leyen during the pandemic, but id not bother to notify the Irish poodle Varadkar.
.
I do not hold a brief for the current Lords, created by Blair, but it does not have the authority to block legislation but has done so. It is a in fact the Lords which has been the most antagonistic to ANY and EVERY Brexit policy. Why? Because a majority of Peers have direct payments for EU lobby groups and EU interests. The UK constitution is NOT unusual in having a non-Elected Upper House. The last PM of Italy was an appointed Life Senator and then he was appointed as Premier. In fact he was previously an appointed EU Commissioner and appointed President of the ECB. Most Upper Houses in the EU have forms of non-Elected representatives. Go check your comparators.
The fact is that on NINE occasions, since 1997, the British people have been asked about the policy of being in the EU by parties running for election promising a referendum on either extensions of EU powers or membership. Each time the party, Labour or Tory, has won yet then not carried out its promise until Cameron was required to in 2016. Why the reluctance to hold a referendum until then .. because the UK establishment , like the EU political leaderships, know the answer will not be the one they want. You clearly do not recall the national referendums on the so called 'European Constitution' which in every country that had one it was rejected. It was therefore dropped, but then brought in by back door as the 'Lisbon Treaty'.
I remember Macron when first elected admitted the French if given a Frexit Referendum would Vote Leave. In every EUro Election since 2014 the EUroSceptic parties have increased their representation. Indeed the largest p single party to sit in Brussels was the Brexit Party until 2019.
As for trade - the UK is less of an importer of EU stuff because it can be had for better value from elsewhere and is doing so. That trade is in decline - as for your idiotic suggestion that WTO trade is too expensive or markets too far, the please explain why the UK always ran a deficit with the EU as a member in a so called'mutually beneficial trading bloc' but has always had a major surpluds with non-EU nations under WTO. The EU cannot find another market within the EU that is 20% of what it used to be - 100% less 20% is 80% that 80% CANNOT be as big as the previous 100% - 27 of the EU states have no viable economies to speak of and hardly trade at all. But then the rules of common sense and basic arithmetic never held with EU fanatics.
I suggest that you go and get analysed for your Brexit-EU Derangement Syndrome and your pathological obsession with the UK Leaving.
