  2. Until I was 12 I don't think I ever gave a single thought to my body. Thereafter, I had the normal traumas and neuroses of puberty and immediate post-puberty - ie, I wasn't 'perfect' according to some definition or other prevalent at the time. Childhood should be entirely carefree and uncontaminated with normal pubertal and post-pubertal hurdles, which must be faced as part of the process of growing up.
