'The Lancet' discredited itself by publishing a letter signed by many doctors, in 2020, stating categorically that SARS-CoV-2 virus could not possibly have escaped from a laboratory, and that anyone who suggested this as a possibility - without even suggesting that there might be anything deliberate about this - was a conspiracy theorist to be ignored or even 'cancelled'.
