That's not a good analogy. Brain tumours exist. 'Gender' does not. Anyone who believes she or he is 'in the wrong body' is psychologically unwell, and needs psychological help. So-called 'gender dysphoria' is always a symptom of an underlying disorder which needs to be addressed. The only time one ought to collude with someone's delusion is with a baby's delusion of omnipotence in the first two years of life. This makes the baby - who is objectively totally vulnerable - feel safe. The delusion of omnipotence must be gradually dispelled over the next few years, as the toddler gradually comes to realise and accept that other people have rights and needs that do not always correspond with his. This is very painful at first, but is part of the process of socialisation.
