Afghanistan was not captured by the Taliban in August 2021. It was handed to the Taliban on a plate because Donald Trump wanted the political 'kudos', as he saw it, of being able to say that there were 'no American boots on foreign soil, for the first time in many years'. Afghanistan was slowly becoming more civilised - it was a slow process as it was starting from such a low base. No NATO troops had been killed by the Taliban for nearly two years. Now, after twenty years of NATO's spending blood and treasure, Afghanistan is back to being a failed State, a hell for girls and women, and a breeding ground for terrorists to spread out and wreak havoc on the World.
