  2. 'Idiotisms' - at school we always used to refer to the French idioms that we had to learn as 'French idiots'. I'm sure this is a universal practice.

  3. What about some Scottish words: scunner, glaikit gomeril, breenge, gey (pronounced almost like a short 'guy', meaning more than 'rather', not as much as 'very'), etc.
