  3. The terms 'gender', 'feminine' and 'masculine' have no place outside a book of grammar. Biological entities do not have a gender. They have a sex, female or male. Some Victorians believed that 'reading difficult books' would make a girl sterile, for example. The strict defining of what is appropriate for females or males is stereotyping and sexist.
