I think Carl was right in saying that the problem of mass shootings in USA needs to be tackled (I would say as well as having reasonable gun laws) from the other direction. So many - all? - of these perpetrators seem to be youths in their late teens or early twenties who are obviously mad. The question is why? And why, in the case of the latest one, did no-one care, why was no help available to a boy who was in hell and could see no way forward?
