However the fact of whether an ovum is fertilised by an X-bearing or a Y-bearing sperm is merely the first of a series of switch mechanisms which take place over the next several months, and can get out of synch. But this is extremely rare. Speculatively, it could be theoretically possible that a person could feel that they were a female brain in a male body (or vice versa). Again, this is extremely rare. There is no point in my reiterating what Helen Joyce has so cogently written. I recommend that everyone read her book.
