  2. Edinburgh University is one of the four older Scottish Universities, founded in the 15th century. Napier University is one of the newer universities - I think it was formerly a College of Pharmacy (Herriot Watts). However, Edinburgh University is not blameless, as last year it acquiesced to the demands of some undergraduates to 'de-name' their Hall of Residence which was named after David Hume, and apparently he had lent some money to someone in the 18th century who had then invested it in the West Indies. Therefore racist you see.
