  2. The 'Empire Windrush' was bringing back people to Britain, and called in to Jamaica on the way back to Britain. The Jamaican Authorities begged the British Government to take as many unemployed Jamaicans as possible to Britain because there was a bad unemployment problem in Jamaica. Many Jamaicans were very keen to take advantage of this to find employment in Britain (London).
