  1. What about the Statute (law) saying that no-one is legally allowed to enter this country without permission? Therefore, it is by definition a criminal offence to land on Dover Beach from a dinghy. Would there be less of a pull factor if anyone who did this was immediately arrested, and deported at the first convenient opportunity - ie when enough people from a particular country had accumulated to constitute a planeload, which would then be flown back to that country?
