  1. The rationale for halal slaughter for animals to eat is that an animal to be eaten must be in perfect health - as far as is known - and physically intact, not injured or ill or diseased. You can see the point of this, especially in the seventh century AD. However, I think it is - like Kosher slaughter - totally inappropriate for the modern age.
