At the very least you would have to have sex with men (before the days if artificial insemination). Also, S de Beauvoir had a few liaisons with women in later life - whether these were purely experimental is not clear. She certainly seemed to be deeply in love with Nelson Algren. J-P Sartre's dishonesty ruined the relationship for both of them. Algren never recovered.
