  1. A small waist is associated with a young girl - who probably has not yet had children - and who is not already visibly pregnant. A man wants a woman who is not already pregnant. Humans have hidden ovulation and hidden pregnancy - they do not start to 'show' until the fourth or fifth month (although someone who knows the woman well may know she is pregnant at an early stage - similarly with ovulation). There are differences in taste. Also, females are attracted to males in different modalities - not just vision. (Sorry, pheromones)
