Perhaps the LotusEaters would like to adopt the El Salvador position and conflate spontaneous miscarriage and stillbirth with procured abortion, all legally defined as 'aggravated homicide' and subject to a sentence of 30 years in prison, even if continuation of the pregnancy would result in the inevitable death of the woman. I'm not even mentioning rape and incest, or rape-incest. Abortion of one's own non-viable pregnancy has traditionally not been an offence under English Common Law, as a non-viable foetus was not a subject of the King, although aiding or procuring an abortion for another person was a criminal offence.
