  1. I think it would be a mistake to try to ban the Qu'ran. It would only lend it mystique and desirability. I am very wary of banning anything. What is needed is for the Qu'ran to be available in UNBOWDLERISED translations in the languages of the country, and *very importantly*, have ex-Muslims (of whom there are many, but they keep a low profile, for obvious reasons), who have read the Qur'an in the original classical Arabic many times, to lead people through it, and through the Hadith. This would be very educational for many people.
