  1. Covid years: It wasn't the Appeal to Authority that locked down the credulous/honest people. It was our trust in those who claimed to be applying the best results then available from honest scientific research. After all, how sceptical/paranoid/anti-scientific/tinfoil-hat-wearing do you have to be to disbelieve the emphatic assurances - broadcast EVERY DAY to the Nation - of the Chief Medical Officer, the Chief Scientific Officer, the Prime Minister? The fact - as it later emerged - that vested interests had colluded to censor scientific findings about (a) the lethality of SARS-CoV-2 (not very dangerous to averagely healthy people - another cold-type virus to add to the four that are already endemic), (b) that cheap, out-of-copyright drugs were already available to help people who got it badly, (c) that economic lockdowns would be unnecessary and horribly counter-productive, and that truly scientific people who tried to tell us this were silenced and even punished, does not reflect on the credulity of the population but on the dishonesty and venality of those in power. More could be said about the experimental vaccines, and I refer everyone to Dr John Campbell for this.
