  2. Medicine and handwashing: please see the story of Semmelweis. However, I agree that the article read out sounds very chaotic.

  3. Men taking more responsibility for contraception: please do more of it. Pills and coils can cause severe side-effects. Diaphragms are inconvenient and messy. The 'rhythm' method is a non-starter. Vasectomy is a much simpler operation than salpingectomy. It does not even need a general anaesthetic.
