It is very important for girls from the earliest age to regard physical activity (athletics and/or organised games) as normal and fun, even if - like me - they are totally mediocre in performance. It builds muscle and bone, increases coordination and confidence, and lays down muscle memory in the brain, so that, after perhaps 15 or 20 years of having little or no time to do much physical activity, a foundation will be there to enable a re-taking-up of physical activity to improve fitness, which will have deteriorated in the meantime. This will be much more difficult if childhood/adolescence has been spent being sedentary.

  2. There is no such thing as 'Trans' gender. There is a 'Trans'-Industrial Complex which is a potential multi-billion dollar industry. See today's (19 July 2023) news item in 'The Times' about the chaotic mess caused by the Gender Recognition Act and the Equality Act, and the necessity for primary legislation to repeal the former and re-examine the latter, and to OUTLAW the indoctrination with this pernicious garbage of our schoolchildren even in primary school. Anyone who disobeys the law should be prosecuted. We are beyond the stage of begging already indoctrinated teachers not to groom children into the 'Trans' Religion and other things.

  3. Francis, do you really believe that a woman being seriously injured or killed in a mixed-sex sport would make one iota of difference? No-one with any power or authority would care.
