  1. This is not a right-left issue. It is a right-wrong issue. Like Francis, 'left-wing' to me means not privatising the utilities in Britain. It does not mean mutilating children.

  2. 'Romeo and Juliet' is not a children's play. A schoolteacher visiting Stratford-on-Avon with her class of eight-year-olds took them to see a matinee performance of 'Romeo and Juliet', thinking that, because it was a matinee performance, it must be suitable for children. The play contains gang warfare, murder, suicide, vendetta politics. The children were totally distraught at the tragic ending. The teacher was outraged that a warning had not been given that it was not suitable for children.
