  3. The perpetrators of these school/supermarket/cinema/etc massacres appear nearly always to be young men in their late teens or early twenties who are obviously mad. Why are they like this in the first place? Why does nobody seem to notice? Why is there apparently no mechanism whereby someone who was suffering as much as that young man was could get help before he got to that stage? I think these questions are as important as considering questions of gun control.
