The two contortions of Government that have increased my scepticism of those who rule over us by orders of magnitude are: 1 The reaction to the result of the Brexit Referendum of 2016, of Government, the Civil Service, the MSM (especially the BBC), academics and pundits with access to media, nearly all the Great and Good - ie, the Establishment. 2 The lies told to us re every aspect of the Covid pandemic, from the extremely probable origin of the SARS-CoV-2 virus (and the role - if any - played by the American NIH in the development of gain-of-function research), to Governments ordering mass media - including electronic social media - to censor scientists or medics who deviated at all from the Government-proferred Party Line. This included any mention of ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine, any critique of 'lockdowns', any questioning of the efficacy or safety of m-RNA vaccines, and now, post-pandemic, a refusal to examine data showing possible adverse effects of the virus, and a denial that this may even be a possibility. The apparent indemnity given to the manufacturers of the m-RNA vaccines, and the reason for this, is another question needing an answer.
