  1. Saudi Arabia legalised women drivers a few years ago. However, some women (quite a large group, I think) were imprisoned for staging a 'drive-in' before the Head of State (SBN?) had authorised legal driving by women. This was several years ago. I don't know if they are still in prison. I love the story of when King Khaled of Saudi Arabia was on a State visit to Britain, and he practically had to be put into psychiatric intensive care for three days when the Queen herself got into the driver's seat of the vehicle, belted herself in, and drove him at break-neck speed round the Balmoral Estate. She had, of course, been a driver and fully qualufied mechanic since she enrolled in the Army at age 18, near the end of the Second World War.😂
