Remember when its Chief Auditor, Mrs Martha Andreassen, after nagging them for ten years to get their accounts into a state where she could, in all conscience, sign them off, finally gave up, and went public? She was instantly sacked. Neil Kinnock called her 'a hysterical woman'. We are talking about hundreds of billions of Euros of European taxpayers' money. How many years is it now since the European Commission's Annual Report and Accounts have been signed off by auditors? Twenty-three and counting.
