  1. 'Indigenous'. As a descendant of Celts, Anglo-Saxons and Norse, born and brought up in Britain, I describe myself - when asked - as an Indigenous Briton. An American told me that the word 'indigenous' now has a different meaning. Since I have no interest in conversing with Humpty Dumpty, I did not ask what this might be. I just hope he has a great fall - by which I do not mean an enjoyable autumn.

'Classical' music: Simon Rattle, the orchestral conductor, wrote an article in 'The Times' of London a couple of weeks ago, saying that he fears that this music is in danger from a 'pincer movement' out to eliminate it, from Arts Council England and the BBC - the very Institutions which should be protecting and promoting it. He fears that, after the BBC Proms season this summer, the BBC will have a concerted attack on 'classical' music. What Rattle does not realise is that this will be organised - not perpetrated through ignorance - and emanates from Queer Theory. It is part of the attack on our civilisation.
