  2. The term 'disinformation', used correctly, means lying propaganda, or knowingly wrong data fed to the enemy as a weapon to defeat them, by getting them to believe things that were not true. Used incorrectly by Governments against their electorates - or oppressed populations - it is an attempt to make people disbelieve things that are true, in order to control them.
