  1. Several tower blocks of 40 storeys were built on the edge of Glasgow (Red Road) in the 1960s. No-one could live in them without going round the bend, and eventually they were used as student accommodation, but even they couldn't stand it, and the buildings were demolished, I think in the 1980s.
