To call what someone is saying 'unsafe' simply because you disagree with them, is an abuse of the English language, and seems to be associated with people who live their lives 'on line' and have no physical contact with other human beings. 'Being in an unsafe space' means being in a location where you are likely to be physically injured or attacked. It does not mean sharing an air space - far less social media - with someone who may not endorse and applaud everything you say. Btw, I agree with you, Simon, about anonymity. I was always taught that sending anonymous (or 'poison-pen') letters was the action of someone who was lower than pond life - sorry, pond life, I don't mean to insult you.
