  2. It is disgraceful for the Senator to compare the United States to North Korea and China. He ought to apologise for this. However, no other country in the civilised world has this incoherent, chaotic, spuriously partisan, and apparently unending obsession with abortion that the US has. Irrational and indefensible extremes pitch themselves against each other: 'a non-viable fetus is a person, legally and in every other way'; 'one has the right to "abort" up to full term' - actually infanticide. The fact is that if a woman realises she is pregnant and wants an abortion, the sooner this is done the better, therefore the fewer impediments there are the better. It is disingenuous to compare 'some' States in the US to 'some' countries in Europe. In the latter, if the law says you can have an abortion, then there will be no impediment - including financial. In the US, some States are even threatening to make it illegal to travel to another State to seek an abortion - wouldn't this be unconstitutional?
