This reminds me of Mrs Martha Andreassen, Chief Auditor of the European Commission, resigning in despair after nagging the Commissioners to get their accounts in order so that she could sign them off, for 10 years. She then went public and was instantly sacked. She was a true European, being of Spanish origin, married to a Dane and living in Britain. She then joined UKIP, but left after a year because she said it was sexist. After about 28 years and counting, the European Commission, passing hundreds of billions of Euros through its accounts every year, still hasn't had its annual Report and Accounts published because they are not in a fit state to be signed off.
