I get fed up with this, 'You British neglect your old people, you stick them in a Home and forget about them' nonsense. More than 90 per cent of old British people are looked after by one or more family member, when they need to be looked after. This is not always in the family member's own home, as there is often not enough space. British old people who end up in Old People's Homes at the end of their lives are usually (a) requiring round-the-clock care which can only be provided professionally, or (b) have been predeceased by all their relatives. This has been investigated.
