  1. This is a quarrel between the two main denominations of a foreign religion: the Sunni and the Shia branches of Islam, as represented by Saudi Arabia and Iran respectively. Iran controls and funds Hezbollah and Hamas and has used them to sabotage what was the impending working relationship between Saudi Arabia and Israel. Iran does not want this as it would give Saudi Arabia greater regional influence. Saudi Arabia and the other Sunni nations now feel obliged to be against - if not actually declare war on - Israel. What makes people waving 'pro-Palestinian' flags and generally indulging in insulting behaviour, think that the British Government or Parliament can have any influence, or indeed interest, in this internecine fight, is beyond my comprehension. Perhaps a psychiatrist could explain it.🤔
