  1. The 'E' stands for 'equity', not 'equality'. The latter implies equality of opportunity and equality before the law. 'Equity' means 'equality of outcome', and results in such policies as Harvard University limiting the number of Asian students being admitted, by simply fixing a quota for them - they were too well qualified, you see. It means admitting undergraduates who probably can't do the course, therefore the course has to be made easier.
