  1. Flights of illegal immigrants to Rwanda: a pointless exercise, as the agreement with Rwanda states that, for every illegal migrant we park with Rwanda, we are obliged to take a vulnerable Rwandan, as specified by Rwanda, to live in the UK. So the numbers remain the same.

  2. 'If only we had safe, legal routes for immigration, we wouldn't have the problem of illegal immigration.' This is utter balderdash. The reason these men - they are 95 per cent men aged between 18 and 35 - have often already tried to immigrate into Britain, and have been rejected is because, on checking, they have been found to be associated with terrorism and/or criminality. So we just admit them by the back door - potential terrorists, criminals, sexists, homophobes, jihadists. They are not fleeing war or mistreatment. At best, they want to work in the unofficial economy - having no qualifications recognised in this country - paying no taxes, but using all the services paid for by taxpayers.
