  1. One of the FIRST THINGS the Labour Government did was to draw a red pencil through the Act - it is an Act, not a Bill - enabling free speech in Universities. (Why, in the name of all that's wonderful, do we need an Act of Parliament for this?) This would have benefited students as well as academic (and non-academic) staff and visiting speakers. It is a disgrace.
