  4. 1 For decades there are no/next to no problems with sub-postmistresses and sub-postmistresses around the country balancing their money at the end of the day. 2 A new computer system is installed to help them do this. 3 It is a system that another Government Department have refused to use because they judged it to be no good. 4 Suddenly, more than 700 sub-postmistresses and sub-postmasters cannot balance their books. Their computers show huge deficits. They have no idea why. Question that would occur to a cognitively impaired baby squirrel: would it be a good idea to get an independent computer genius to examine the new computer software under the equivalent of an electron microscope? What were the ulterior motives in not doing this?
