  1. I am shocked that one of the panel, who started menstruating quite young, had not had this explained to her by her mother, who presumably did not therefore supply her with sanitary protection. Why? Whenever I hear the words 'embarrassment' or 'shame' uttered in conjunction with menstruation, and the implication that it will be an excuse for a girl to miss school, I immediately suspect that some male is trying to deprive a girl of her education. The whole thing reeks of religious fanaticism.

  2. In Britain, if anyone cannot afford £2.00 per month for sanitary protection, I want to see their income and expenditure account. It's nonsense. 'Period poverty' may well exist in some parts of the World, but not in Britain. This is a gimmick from Wee Kim Jong McKrankie (aka as Nicola Sturgeon) to try to distract attention from the deficiencies of the SNP Government which is turning Scotland into a third-world country. Any girl who feels 'shame' about menstruation obviously comes from a sexist home environment - a particular religion, perhaps?
