Remember two or three years ago, a would-be terrorist asked a taxi driver to drive him to Liverpool Cathedral, on Remembrance Sunday, approaching 11 am. The driver thought there was something suspicious about him, and drove instead into a hospital car-park, at great risk to himself as he rightly suspected his passenger was carrying explosives. He managed to escape from his taxi, locking the doors remotely just before the suicide bomber blew himself up. If the taxi driver had not been so brave and quick-thinking, Liverpool Cathedral would have suffered this explosion at 11 am, with great loss of life. I wanted the taxi driver to be given the George Cross at the time, but I don't think he was.
