  3. GUIs were developed for the purpose of multitasking. Otherwise we'd be back to DOS, needing to load up just one program to do word processing, close it out, and then open another for photo editing, close that out and open yet another program for checking email or browsing bulletin boards - but you can only do one or the other, one at a time, constantly closing and opening programs. Exactly how is that a better thing than having a GUI where you can load all these programs in separate windows and not have to keep opening and closing stuff all the time?

  4. @lawrencedoliveiro9104 - Blender does a ton of things that used to use several programs in the past. It violates the Unix philosophy because it's everything from CAD, Photoshop, Video editing/animation, all wrapped up in a non-intuitive feature creep mess.
