Like we can't take any one American's religious and secular experience as the definitive way, I think it would be a disservice to the whole of Germany to say one German's religious and secular experiences are the definitive German way. Even in America, there is a diversity between the fundamentalists, conservatives, progressives, and liberals that make up Christianity. Even with soon to be former President Biden professing to be Catholic, especially in good standing, will cause a lot of debate among traditional, conservative, progressive, and liberal Catholics. Likewise, soon to be again President Trump as a Christian stirs up a lot of debate among fundamentalist, conservative, progressive, and liberal Protestant Christians. As for tithing, that varies from some Catholic Churches that have, or had once demanded tithing to be a part of the parish, as well as fundamentalist and progressive Protestants that may argue that tithing was an Old Testament thing that isn't necessary any more - though you can still give if you want.

@ct751 - Unfortunately, that's not always the case. Following, or trusting the science has turned science into something like a pagan naturist cult. As it is, the term for a god or deity in Ancient Egypt was 'netjer', which when saying it sounds like how we say 'nature'. But further it is like in the Bible where it is stated that those that denied God "worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator" (Romans 1: 22-25). But I would argue that no one uncritically accepts the truth of the Bible, but there is a lot of things claimed, and demanded of people to 'trust the science' that has had little to no critical though about it, yet still has demanded unwavering acceptance to it, such as in the COVID era, or with Climate Change that rivals in number of doomsday prophets as fundamentalist cults in Christianity that claimed they knew when the world would end.

@SirHeinzbond - Then you don't understand what the objections are. For one thing science is never 'settled'. There is always something new that may be discovered that enhances or completely changed our views of how things work. Thus why, with Galileo, his little house arrest wasn't merely for disagreeing with the Pope or what is believed from the Bible, but rather he was among those stating new ideas about the Earth revolving around the Sun, rather than what was considered the 'settled science' of, by then. at least a millennia that believed the Sun Revolved around the Earth. As it is, by your reasoning, you might of been among those during that age calling Galileo schizophrenic for contending with the settled science, and possibly saying, "How dare he use a telescope if he's such a barbarian that refuses the logic of settled science!"

No Church tax. Germany has a lot of issues religiously that you didn't even come close to covering on this video.That's part of the reason why more people in Germany are choosing not to affiliate with a church, because they've come to believe they are corrupt and don't want their money going to said corruption.

@TukikoTroy - We do have laws, and if people break them, they go to jail. Plus, a lot of world nations, save China, India, and Russia, don't have even close to the land that we do in the US. Many of your European countries are barely the size of Vermont. So apples to oranges when comparing a country that's about half the North American continent to one of your puny shriveled up raisin sized countries. But hey, if you want all the mass murderers, gang members, druggies, thieves and other criminals, we'll be glad to send them to you as 'refugees'. As for the so-called riots, those are political prisoners that will shortly be returned to their homes as soon as Trump returns to the White House. Heck, I'm surprised some of you are allowed to say Nazi, as that's something you can be put in prison for in Germany.

What happens if you don't congratulate everyone at a birthday party? What happens if you don't split the bills exactly and the use the explicitly defined efficient payment methods like the Tikkie app? What happens if you don't ride your bike everywhere? What happens if you don't greet people with three kisses on the cheek? Why is it illegal to lock a burglar in your home? Why after a divorce is the mother-in-law is still considered part of the family? Why are pregnant women are allowed to urinate in public? Why do you have to have indoor plumbing while camping? Why are there mandatory monthly emergency drills? Why is it illegal to take anything from a forest? Why, in order to get married, at least one partner must be Dutch or a legal resident of the country? Why is illegal for three or more unrelated individuals to live together without a permit? Why are automatic weapons banned for civilians, with exceptions only for police, hunters, and target shooters under strict conditions?

@hugolxxx - A lot of native Americans are still alive today, so if we 'genocided' them, we weren't very good at it.
